That depends on what kind of "Yankee" you are referring to. If you refer the original meaning, which was a Native American corruption of "English" and refers to New Englanders, I don't hate you at all. If you refer what it came to mean during the Civil War, which was northerners and Union men, I don't hate you at all. If you refer to the term that is used to describe all Americans (or Yousans if you prefer, Honez), I don't hate you at all. But, sir, if you are a fan of the New York Yankees, then I do hate your Yankee ass (American spelling).

We shall see, BC. Remember what I told you about Steve Fossett.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery NAP.

I've been following these rumors for some time and dismissed most of them but I'm starting to believe that MJ may now be a good pick. Scoff all you want.

With only two days to go before the fourteenth annual Death League Meeting & Draft, I'd like to re-activate this moribund thread with the faint hope that someone out there will throw out a late breaking hot tip to help me win my seventh straight title. Thanks in advance for any tips.

If anyone has any late breaking news for my upcoming Death League Meeting and Draft, please post. I'm looking for candidates to draft that the average fan might have missed. Thanks in advance.

I can believe that Fidel is close to death but before I believe that he is already dead, you have to convince me that there is a logical reason to postpone the announcement of his demise. What benefit is gained from hiding it?

Do you suppose he might be battling pancreatic cancer?

Try living in Scotland where the weather is equally sh*t, and where we are all too fat to participate in sports. The worst part is it has absolutely nothing to so with the time of year... No tossin' o' the caber, W?

I think that's "shoo in" Mr. engineer (why do I have this feeling of deja vu?)

Sorry to disagree Miser, but college basketball is being played all over the country as we speak. Could you be referring to the NCAA Tournament (aka March Madness)?

Hope you had a great birthday DDT. -
A great pick who's just entered our Death League is NCAA President Myles Brand. Although not well known outside the United States, he's a blue chip prospect. He has pancreatic cancer and says of himself, the prognosis is "not good".

I don't see it that way, W. The connection is that Abraham Lincoln was the president who freed African American slaves and Barack Obama's election has provided another milestone in the struggle for equal rights. It's the same reason that Martin Luther King Jr. used Father Abraham as a backdrop for his "I have a dream" speech. Yes, yes, yes - I was only kidding. Not that there is anything funny about being assassinated like... My apologies, W old boy. Ha ha. -
I think Tom Jones is pretty funny.

Pittsburgh won its game against Baltimore 23-14 It will be a Pittsburgh vs Arizona matchup in Tampa Bay for the 2009 Superbowl. Both games were very interesting. The Superbowl match up gives us a classic great offense versus great defense game. My initial nod would be for Pittsburgh but I've been wrong in underestimating the Cardinals twice already. It's hard to believe that this is the same team that the Patriots demolished a few short weeks ago. -
Great idea, GU but mine will be more like, "Whatever happened to......?"

Yes, I think so.
