Gwyn- I liked his acting and also liked his stance on guns. He was President of the NRA but also marched with Martin Luther King. I really don't know where your conception the he was a bigot comes from.

Happy Birthday Ronnie. Be sure to ride 'em, Cowboy! -
A guy goes to the supermarket and notices an attractive woman waving at him. She says hello. He's rather taken aback because he can't place where he knows her from. So he says, "Do you know me?" To which she replies, "I think you're the father of one of my kids." Now his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife and says, "My God, are you the stripper from my bachelor party that I made love to on the pool table with all my buddies watching while your partner whipped my butt with wet celery?" She looks into his eyes and says calmly, "No, I'm your son's teacher."

Why can't we leave Vaagy's thread as he wants it? He sounds like a reasonable poster and I think his English is just fine.

I'm sorry if I came across as harsh, BC, but the fact of the matter is that many people have gone through and are going through the same plight. You will not get comfort in the distress of others. What will give you a measure of happiness is by giving to others. For all your bad fortune, many others are worse off (yes like some of the podunks you carelessly dismiss). Get your mind off yourself and think about others, that is where true happiness and contentment lie.

Okay, here's the spiel. I'm going through a rough period right now. I just lost my job. The boss commended me for my great performance and said that I've been a valuable contributor, but said that the company's had financial problems and they had to let me go b/c there's not enough in the budget to sustain extra help. He told me to pack my bags up and clean my desk by 11 am on the SAME DAY. I asked for a one month reprieve, but he told me to get out by 12 PM (he did grant me an extra hour). It f$%^ing sucks for me right now and I'm feeling low. I cheered for eliot Spitzer's downfall and I'm cheering for this country to fall into depression so they know what I'm going through right now. I sent my resumes to literally dozens of employers. I have a Master's degree, have sufficient work and computer experience, but nobody even wants to look at my resume. So yeah, I'm miserable at the moment. Thank you very much. Maybe that's why I'm looking forward to seeing another famous celebrity die or to witness the downfall of somebody famous like Spitzer. Schauenfreude is all I'm feeling right now. So, BC, you're cheering for the whole country to fall into a depression because you are currently out of work? I guess we know who's the most important person in the world then don't we? Did you ever consider that beyond the fact that it's one of the most pitiful statements of self-indulgence I've ever heard, that the country being in a depression will make it much harder for you to get a job? Something to think about my friend.

I agree, BC, especially since he's on my Death League and DDP teams.

Happy Birthday Diabolus. If you're famous, please send me your real name. I'll need a replacement in my Death League team as soon as they string Chemical Ali up. Oh, and happy returns of the day! -
Does anyone have more detail about the recent internet report that Liz has "organ failure" and is refusing transplants and dialysis? I see no confirmation and don't know if it's a lot of bull or has merit.

Who Do You Think Will Win The Democrat And Republican Nominations?
deadsox replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I feel awful about Nader running; it worries me. When I hear the guy interviewed, I find myself agreeing with the vast majority of what he says, both about the murky politics of corporate lobbyists in Washington and his views on the wider world. But, I have to admit the one basic truth that is the thorn in his campaign's side; surely no confirmed Republican voters are ever going to vote for Nader, so his entrance into the race can only benefit the Republicans by stripping potential votes from the Democrats. It reminds me of the Liberal Democrat party here in the UK; if everyone who agreed with their philosophies voted for them, they might win, but people just assume they've got no chance so they don't vote for them. Am I alone in suspecting that Nader is actually some sort of long-term right-wing double agent? Although Ralph had a decidedly negative effect on the Democrats in 2000, I don't believe he will make much difference in 2008. His support has slipped considerably and I don't see him garnering much more than 1%. Unless Barack stumbles badly, he's the favorite in my view. -

That is priceless. -
What are your thoughts on Fawza Falih? Is it really possible that this is going to happen? I work in Salem, Massachusetts but they stopped this a little over 300 years ago.
-
I heard that Fidel would be replaced by his not-so-capable son, Fidel W. Castro.
-
Anyone have thoughts as to whether Fawza will indeed be executed?
