Aye, looked fairly lively on the news tonight; getting a bit of deja vu for the bad old days just watching it. Match went off without a hitch. Apart from the fucker who went towards (maybe on?) the pitch. Reckon there's going to be quiet a few people not sleeping in the area though.

Seems only fitting that West Hams last match at Upton Park would be delayed due a hooliganism incident. Kick off now at 20:30 rather than 19:45.

Just spat my coffee out on that one. I'm definitely stealing this one. I'm stealing this one too Apparently it's an adaptation of a Donald Trump visits a Portland School joke, although I'm sure it predates that by several decades at the very least.

Fucking hell. I think I'd have come very close to doing time if anyone did that to my sister in that situation. What a cunt. Hopefully the elder children are better off out of his care.

Isn't there a mountain of studies that show those who aren't sure tend to go for the status quo? My main motivation for voting out was to avoid being dragged into TTIP, but that's a non-starter by the looks of it so I'm less sure.

Summer, likely to be a warm sunny day with daylight until after 10pm, voting on a subject I suspect the vast majority of people don't give two shits about either way, despite the vocal loud minorities on both sides? It'll be around the AV referendum turnout, I'm guessing. I think you seriously underestimate how much the average person cares about having their say on the EU. Postal votes will massively help boost turn-out as well.
-
I'm be a nosey fuck, and you can rightly tell me to put a sock in it, but what the fuck did your brother do to deserve spitting on his grave?
-
I reckon turnout for the referendum will be somewhere in the high 80s percentage wise. If it's above 83.9% it would beat the 1950 general election turnout to highest UK wide referendum/election turnout (the Scots take the crown of highest turnout in a UK election or referendum at 84.3% last year since figures appear to be available - easily at least - (1918) in England. Although I reckon that's extremely optimistic as the 1975 one garnered only a 65% turnout. I still reckon, similar to the Scottish referendum, turnout will pale any general election in recent years.

Seems that we didn't cover all bases in our discussion yesterday, anyone fancy train station spotting? -
I can relate Lardy. I've convinced myself on a number of occasions that I've had brain tumors, heart attacks and Lyme disease. Always good to make life style changes gradually. You can do it if it's important enough to you. Hang in there. Tension headaches are a bastard for that the first time you get them. Genuinely thought I was going to die of brain tumour despite ridiculously low odds I'd get them. Never been in so much pain. Especially as they can last for weeks on end.

So, the premiership isn't in the football league? It's some sort of separate entity? Which you get into by winning the league below*, which is in fact the top of the entire football league.... ok. *though it isn't 'below' is it? It can't be since it's the top of the entire football league, it must be a sort of sideways move. 1,2,3,4 never seemed so appealing simple before now . The Premier League (not premiership) is managed and run separately from the Football League. The football league is best described as the feeder system for the Premiership, with the Conference system best described as a feeder system for the Football League, there's then a gazillion different regional systems that feed into . They're all at various Levels on the UK Football League System (known as the football pyramid) and they are all below and above another league which they accept teams from excepting the Premier League, however finishing in the top four qualifies you for Champions League (a knock-out tournament in European Football) so high finishes other than winning are still as important.
-
I think the reason it's called the championship is because of the breakaway the winner of the championship is champion of the entire football league in that year (which extends down to League Two, incorporating 72 teams.)
-
Apparently, this. Cheers. Thought it would've been the post confirming Clive Dunn, Ronnie Biggs or Thatchers death. I think they went a step further and disabled guest posts all together.

Anyone know what the most liked post on here is?

You've been posting more regularly the last six weeks haven't you? -
It's different numbers of teams in the divisions though. It's not that confusing with regards to the tiers that marginally matter. Premier League Championship League One League Two National League National League North + National League South Isthmian League + Northern Premier League + Southern Premier League I think that list speaks for itself. If you think that's confusing here's the entire pyramid - all the way down to Mid-Sussex Football League - Division Ten. (Level 23, i.e it would take a team in this division 22 promotions to reach the Premier League but they can do it.) Basically once you get to the national league it's just ever decreasing geographical areas with some of the larger ones having several divisions. Yes, that's all fine. What I object to is the top divisions being given fancy names as though they are separate from the system. The so-called Premiership is the League Division One, and the so-called Championship is League Division Two. < wanders away muttering about how it were when I were a nipper > Look if we went back to how it was when you were a nipper I'd have been a coal miner for about ten years.

Everyone who follows politics has known about this for months. Good to see the police are finally responding.

I think I know what you're trying to say, in that because his brains wired differently he might not suffer the effects of bullying to as much as a high emotional degree as a "normal" child. It's still going to seriously effect him though, as someone whose been through it, there's a spectrum and he's almost certainly able to process some emotions such as anger and sadness better than others. It's still horrible being bullied as an autistic child, especially as it's a vicious cycle as the only way you're able to respond is blowing your lid at the wankers, which just encourages them to carry on more and more, and winds you up more and more. Bullying is destructive for anybody regardless of what behavioural conditions they may have on top of it. -
Also resulting from this afternoons League One matches. Burton Albion will be in the Championship mixing it with the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle, Derby County, Queens Park Rangers and Fulham. They've only been a Football League team since 2009.

I moved to the north of Lewis about 11 years ago for a couple of years, and although just a wee bit further north, the lack of light pollution was astounding . The sky on a clear night is just a grid of sats. It was harder to spot the stars. It's more to do with being somewhere rural. Keilder is amazing on a clear night. -

Not to mention the post numbers are actually by the post so you can double check before doing a ^^ My friend's young son is a bus spotter. He can tell you all about every bus in their area, draw them in fine detail etc etc. It might be geeky but he is absolutely passionate about his subject. He has a hard enough time at school as he is autistic, without being bullied for being a bus geek. But he soldiers on pursuing his hobby and I admire him for that. Well, obviously.
