Is it just me who thinks that a million people gathering in one place against terrorism, whilst inviting along dozens of world leaders is an open invitation for a pretty atrocious terrorist organisation to unleash a major attack and undermine the whole event, or am I just too cynical?

The addictive nature of old corrie episodes... watching 70 in a couple of weeks can't be good for me.
-
Sam Simon probably fits the bill given his recent tweets? Mebbes someone could send him a tee and a mug?
-
Tony Benn as one of the last major political heavyweights of the 1970s, especially on the hard left and Rik Mayall from a comedy point of view.
I reckon this year will get the Queen, Prince Phil or Bush.

Sure I've heard "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose" on UK radio before.
Spade, your name betrays an affinity with old school country above and beyond the interest of most people. I'm guessing you and I may be the only people hereabouts to have parted with cash in return for recordings of Spade Cooley, and - by the looks of your post - you've just confirmed that neither of us has done the same for Little Jimmy Dickens. I think on a busier news week his death wouldn't have snagged BBC coverage.
Why the heck would anyone even do that in the first place?

It has just been brought to my attention that I AM A MASSIVE TWAT and have written David HOCKING when I actually meant David HOCKNEY - can this be changed or will I be called a cheat?
I made a similar mistake in my DDP theme team...but because themaninblack is a legend, I'm sure he'll fix it.

You entered this guy? Preaching for 50 years, and married since 1962 which makes him at least 70 odd - possibly more. Not too shabby.

It'll be Max's bit of stuff who knows who killed Lucy Beale.
Oooo you might be on to something there, I haven't watched last night's yet
Hopefully not, she'd be useful in the run up to the 30th and it'd be pretty damn unimaginative.

So here's the 2015 Masterlist: 16 teams with 234 celebrities picked between yous - lots of sharing going on given the possible 400, I have decided to permit the latecomers because this is my deadpool and things aren't normally done within a month of needing done anyway, what's 24 or so hours. I may be liable to change this policy next year depending on whether I've got up on the right side of bed or not. Where the entrant has not specified a wildcard, there first pick has been assumed to be there wildcard.

As you have apparently already PMed me a team I'm assuming you've posted this in the wrong thread and am using your PMed version.
Yeah, that bears an uncanny resemblance to a list I was dealing with a few minutes ago.
It's also 5 short of a full compliment, unlike his PM one..
-
4-2 in favour, so Estuarian Float is duly allowed in despite the late entry. Incidentally, Float's team is lacking a joker so I've given that honour to the #1 pick in the line up.
Masterlist now complete with 23 teams.
It's a veritable bestiary of bravado and bad taste, crawling with local heroes and marginal low hangers from all corners of the globe and all walks of life, so may well be a very different competition to the past and to owt else around in 2015.
Since the masterlist is done and dusted, does anyone have a major moan if it goes live today? (late afternoonish).
Should anyone on the list die today and be on a jokerless team I'll allow a day or two for the captain to roll out a suitable sub.
Yes, whilst my teams a joke team and it doesn't really affect me the people who've PMed you have likely done it to avoid giving away obscure picks for other deadpools with the Derby Dead Pool, Hartlepool Dead Pool and Hares Death Pool all still accepting entries it seems only fair to keep them concealed until midnight.

The fact that soap operas haven't been released in full on DVD (Corrie and Eastenders to be precise), that'd surely be good form-studying ground. Plus the fact that from the 10 or so early episodes of Corrie available on youtube, it just looks better in those days, why can't we have the entire lot to watch at our leisure?
EDIT: So apparently most episodes of corrie from 1976-91 are available on YouTube with an intermittent splattering of episodes prior to, I'll take that.
All the soaps were better in the old days, Eastenders was much better when it started, I've started watching it again in the last few months only because I want Danny Dyer to ruin my flange. I'm off to Youtube to check out some old scenes!
They go through phases (inevitably for programs that going on for that long), EastEnders is in an up phase at the minute. You reckon it'll be Nick who gets offed on Thursday or someone else?
Nothing to do with phases - they were better in earlier times because there were only two episodes a week. For years. Coronation Street was on Mondays & Wednesdays, Eastenders was on Tuesdays & Thursdays, dunno about Emmerdale Farm (as it used to be called) because I never watched it. Then somebody started the rot by adding an extra episode, and so on until they were on nearly every bloody night. Same amount of butter, more slices of bread ...
They still managed to produce some utter shite in the 1960s and 1970s with two episodes a week.
A lot of it is too do with producers and how well they care for the show, Dominic Treadwell-Collins at EastEnders saw exactly what was needed, a shift in focus away from the same old faces; thus the Carter's were born, a mystery - thus Lucy Beale's death and all the interest it'll bring in the New Year, and some good old-fashioned bastard; thus Nick Cotton returned to fake his own death and use his sleazy son Charlie to get to him and Dean rapes Linda. Most importantly relationships seem to have been brought to the fore through the drama, which in essence makes a soap.
Meanwhile over at Corrie Blackburns failed to remove the many deadwood characters, left a load of bonkers relationships plots running, used what could have been a great depression storyline as a basis for turning Steve into some kind off petty theif and created ridiculous love triangles. Not to mention the fucking gym storyline or the bizarre attempts at comedy.
And I slight disagree on number of episodes, the tech we've got to film is far greater these days and as they've become core-output three nights a week their teams will have increased accordingly. Yes, the actors have to work harder and are paid less than the stars of old were, but that's the way the world is. However, 5 episodes a week of corrie is overload but as several generations are now transfixed I can't see ITV pulling some episodes down, especially as they'd probably need a comedy to fill the gap, or sports programme - neither of which they've been very good at.
