    Ali Carter has now lost all his hair to chemo.

     

    Poor bugger.

     

    Does anyone have a clue what his chances might be like? I have a feeling he'll pull through but it seems like the odds surely have to go down when you've had cancer in two different places.

     

    He still needs to win the big one, which he's more than capable of, it would be a cruel designer/fetemaker who deprived us of two potential world champions through cancer.

    I have picked Chapman Pincheras my candidate on another thread, but before he goes, should he not be asked as to his knowledge of events in Westminster currently under scrutiny.

     

    I seem to remember that when it came to espionage, his contacts were impeccable, or so they seemed, so why not check with him as to his knowledge about the likes of Keith Joseph, Boyson and the like. I'm sure he could be useful.

     

    There's a thread on politicians misdeamenours, a political frailty thread, a general purpose pedo-babbling thread in Jimmy Savile, a thread for journalists, a thread for spies and a thread on Chapman Pincher and you still managed to find the wrong thread for your ramblings?

    Can we not just turn off guest posting altogether, I don't think I've ever seen a constructive comment from a guest?

     

    I'm sure we had a few in the past, like a guy who said he worked at Brinsworth House, but they are few and far between. I now say if you have a desire to post more than a couple of time then you should really need to be expected that you become a member or in the case of Guest-Guest take notice of their annoying behaviour and mend their ways!,

    Banning guests posting for a short period of time is in my view a worthwhile move that never-the-less can still be reversed.

     

    If we're relying on people who might not even be who they say they are, potential imposters or trolls, as examples of constructive posts by guests then what the hell does that say about the general standard of guest posting?

    Anyone have any d.o.b. or health info on Gay Soper? All I can find is that she's been acting and performing since the mid-60s but that's about it.

    I mention her in this topic as she narrated and provided the voices for the childrens' tv show The Flumps

    Typing "Gay Soper age" into Google (other search engines are available) reveals that she was born 6 February 1941, making her 71 now.

     

    Thank you for taking the risk on that search term for us..

    No I think that Political Frailty tends to be focussed on all things Westminster and we should keep a good distance between Washington and Westminster.

    Funny take on things, considering most of the reports in Political Frailty appear to be foreign fatalities...

     

    Maybe we need some kind of central database of all living former politicians from all countries we can use for deadpooling..

    All those people campaigning for the right to die like chris woodhead should just book a flight with Malaysia airlines problem solved.

     

    I couldn't stop myself laughing when I read that as much as I wanted to.

     

    Anyway, anyone else mightily pissed off at the coverage of this on the BBC. First they jump immediately in with fancy graphics and almost laughable election-nightesque online monitoring screens that just seemed totally out of kilter with this kind of tragedy and utterly disrespectful to the victims and secondly they seemingly bypass the whole grief stage of a plane crash into bombarding us with social and political ramifications stuff. They also don't seem to be willing to treat this as a terrorist incident, it's almost as if they'd prepared to run a story about a military plane being shot and on realising a serious aviation disaster involving hundreds of civilians had happened, ran with the military jet story anyway. It just feels cringe-worthy to watch this coverage at the moment.

    Of course he would, but - broken collarbone aside - he was in fine fettle tearing up those Yorkshire hills on his bike a few weeks back. May well be breathing in another 20 years.

     

    True, but some people just go in fine health. I'd call him to be one of those in 3/4 years.

    The worst case scenario I can envisage at this moment in time is that Chechen or other terrorists have hijacked the conflict in Ukraine to deliberately target a civilian aircraft, if that's what happened we're heading for one of the darkest chapters in the "war on terror".

    Sally Farmiloe is one of those picks who would normally get their own thread (because she's gonna make an appearance talking about how she's dying every week or so until she actually dies), but just isn't interesting enough.

     

    Anyway, over the weekend in the Telegraph she is banging the usual drum but confirms she is currently in palliative care. Preferable to having Jeffrey Archer's fetid chub in your mouth, in fairness.

    Don't forget that Hague is a canny Yorkshire lad who is a brilliant orator, and it might just be that he has seen the Blair individual making millions from making so-called speeches across the world, and William has thought that just maybe he could have some of that.

     

    Do you think that Angelina Jolie may have suggested that William goes globe-trotting with her on all the various campaigns with which she is involved. Have no fear about William...........he will be far better off financially, than being involved in politics. Just ask Anthony Charles Linton Blair. What a twat he is!

    We're talking about Russia here. Not exactly the world capital of fitness/healthy eating...... life expectancy for men is something like 58 or sommat.... although you may have a good general point about the others.

     

    Over 75 in Moscow, higher still if you were to strip out immigrants and just include ethnic Ruskies.

    I do hope that TMIB is leaving out of a sense of "I've taken this team as far as I can" rather than nervous exhaustion from too many hours of "does this count as an obituary?" emails. If his replacement handles the DDP with half the dignity when dealing with a bunch of whining ambulance chasers he does, we'll be in good hands.

     

    Do people actually send "does this count as an obit?" emails to the site? Sad bastards, it's only a game.

    Look, I know we don't observe mourning periods for long but even here I feel like slapping a WP:TOOSOON notice on that question.
