Do we know how many hits there have been and what the score is ???
-
This is where I agree with deathray's post above. When competitors label THEIR OWN PICKS as "obscure" maybe it it time to re-examine the criteria of a CELEBRITY.

Bros were shite. I don't know who was worse - Matt or Luke. When will they be wormfood?

The rules state "Picks that don't get an obituary from a reputable news source may not be scored. No legit obit, no hit." This makes sense. What makes no sense is that picks that MAY get an obituary from a reputable news source may be bounced from the game before it starts because someone isn't as clever as you for picking them. Why not let the obituary writers and news outlets decide who is famous enough? It should be up to the players to gamble on whether or not their picks get a QO or not. No legit obit, no hit.

Re: databases and running the game. Firstly, do we need photographs of picks? We either all know what Prince Phillip looks like or none of us know what this week's cancer mum looks like, so the photograph doesn't serve much purpose Secondly, how about making it a requirement that picks have a wikipedia page and that a link to that page is included https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Taylor_(Queen_drummer) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Taylor_(Duran_Duran_drummer) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Taylor_(American_football) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Taylor_(tennis) Thirdly, make it a requirement that the EXACT title of the Wiki page is used as a pick , eg Roger Taylor (Queen drummer) or Roger Taylor (Duran Duran drummer) and NOT "Rodger Taylor (queen)" or "Roger Tailor (durran Durran percusionist) This may also help cut down (although unfortunately NOT eradicate) non celebrity cancer mums from our celebrity Ghoul pool.

Falls do not kill people as a rule. It is usually STOPPING falling that causes the damage

At this rate Mrs Warboys has "One Foot In The Grave"

Whilst I also accept and abide by the adjudicator's ruling, I too have my opinion, and it it thus. I find it a bit odd that the DERBY dead pool accepts BBC pages from China and Australia but not from Derby

Just a thought - do we really need photographs of the picks? The brief bio should be enough information. From my own list I chose Sinclair, Angus Born in Glasgow, Scotland (exact date unknown) Scottish serial killer. Sentenced in 2014 to life in prison for the World's End Murders in 1977. Does knowing that he looks like THIS make that much of a difference?

In 2016 I attended the funeral of one of my "hits" as I had worked with him. It was weird. This year I hope Liam Miller isn't a "hit" - not because I didn't pick him, but because he played for my Team (Celtic) and my English Team (Man.U) Anyway, here is my latest effort Marieke Vervoort (Joker) Patrick Cryne Leah Bracknell John McCain - senator Rayya Elias - author Lynda $pargo - cancer mum Anth0ny Smith - Cancer Grandad $ara Chivers - Cancer Mum Amy Price - jordan’s Mother Simon Ricketts Baroness Wilson of Rievaulx Emeritus Pope Benedict Angus Sinclair - "World's End" murderer Peter Frates - Ice bucket challenge man Jimmy Carter Rev Billy Graham Robert Mugabe Clive James Fernando Ricksen Jill Gascoine

I'm in (again) I suppose a top 20 finish out of nearly 500 entries is OK for 2017

Call me a pedant (OK - don't) The BBC source said "Rangers wearing black armbands to mark the passing of Billy Simpson." but nowhere did it mentioned he had DIED. To win points, there must be the mention of a celebrity's death on a national online news source. Is a running commentary on a football match a NEWS SOURCE??? I have personally PASSED Ibrox on numerous occasions (and trust me, that is the best thing you can do if you are in the area) but so far I haven't died too many times. OK, NOW you can call me a pedant, but while you do, please feel free to discuss the above.
