Who Should Make the Deathlist in 2022?
Gooseberry Crumble replied to The Old Crem's topic in DeathList Forum
I know you can't say WHAT or rather who they are but are there plenty of surprise names gaining traction in the crowdsourced deathlist or is it proving to be in line with your expectations and quite predictable? -

Pumping Them Out In The Birthing Pool
Gooseberry Crumble replied to The Old Crem's topic in Dead Pools
There's certainly lots of clues for participants in this pool in another thread! -
Thank you

I genuinely didn't realise that thank you. She had made it into one of my draft shortlists but was awaiting more research before she ascended to the final list! This information helps me with my deadpooling as I had in my mind she was retired and resident in Switzerland. Perhaps I was mistaken or my information is out of date or incomplete but anyway I think you have just unexpectedly helped me with one of my dilemmas and freed up some space on one of my teams!

But aren't they low tax free marketeers who believe in leaving employers to decide these type of things?
-
What newspaper is reporting this please?
-
I didn't realise the government had said it planned to tax work from home in the long run?

To be honest , I wish no disrespect to the recently deceased guy but I'd never heard of him or that programme until the news of his death broke. BBC 3 back with its own television channel next year. I wonder what treats and gems they will bring us!!

Some other names I would throw into the mix for deadpoolers consideration. All would undoubtedly receive a qualifying obituary Legendary feminist and author Fay Weldon 90. Robert Wagner 91. Priscilla Pointer 97. Petula Clark 89. John Savident 83. Dennis Skinner 89 Arthur Scargill 83 - who has been a recluse since at least 2014 although it is not clear if health reasons are part of the reason for that.

Well yes I totally understand that . I mentioned averages in my original post.. you know the one that you corrected as being that's not really how it works?! When all I suggested was some celebrities were coming to the age were deadpoolers might want to give them some consideration .Basically that was all it was! I mentioned/ indicated there was a lot more nuance to it but your takeaway from my post was that's not how it really works.
-
Well yes I'm aware it isn't that simple and did indicate that in my post but nor is it as simple as if you live to 75 you have a high chance of living to 87. Frank Sinatra lived to 75 and died at 82 Jackie Collins lives to 75 and died at 77 Rod Steiger lived to 75 and died aged 77 Bette Davis lived to 75 and died at 81 Elizabeth Taylor lived to 75 and died at 79 Paul Newman lived to 75 and died at 83. Etc Etc People do often die at the ages in-between 75 and 87 so the phrase you basically got another 12 years in you is also a bit of an oversimplification too. I did make a point of saying my pointers, and that's all they were suggestions for further consideration, were imperfect, useful only up to a point, an average that overlooks huge complexity and a broad generalisation. I did strive for nuance within a post that was quick and playful!!

Who Should Make the Deathlist in 2022?
Gooseberry Crumble replied to The Old Crem's topic in DeathList Forum
Are you sure they didn't mean Willy Russell author of Blood Brothers? -
I still wouldn't rule it out
-
I'm not so sure. Blair never held a cabinet posibefore being elected Prime minister with a huge majority.
-
Tom Tugendhat? Jeremy Hunt? Neither in government.

I was convinced he would lead the tory party into the next general election until this week. The atmospherics and dynamics have shifted dramatically and he has used up an awful lot of political capital and goodwill. I thought the vaccine bounce and the benefit of the doubt that the voters were prepared to give the government for having to deal with such a big and unusual event as the covid pandemic made him unassailable for the foreseeable. As MacMillian said events dear boy events. A week is a long time in politics.

Just some more suggestions to throw into the cauldron for deadpoolers consideration on the very imperfect, useful only to a point information that the average British person dies at 81 and the average American 78. Obviously overlooks huge complexity in that broad generalisation. So brits born in 1941 should in some way maybe come on the radar for deadpoolers in 2022 and Americans born in 1944 So Alex Ferguson , Miriam Margolyes, Richard Dawkins, Juliet Mills, Bill Oddie, Dame Vivienne Westwood for Britain And Diana Ross, George Lucas, Rudy Giuliani, Gladys Knight , Danny Devito for the US. Likely to be of limited use although not quite totally useless but I thought worth adding to the cauldron that gets stirred so much at this time of year!!
