    Boris Johnson

I think it's highly unlikely Sunak will be away from the treasury before any difficult controversial decisions have to be made. Yes there are whispers to the contrary but I still see Boris Johnson being the prime minister at the time of the next general election. Boris Johnsons charms don't really work on me but they do seem to work on a substantial number of swing voters and most tory mps deep down understand that and why that is a clear political asset. Just seen your reaction @Toast don't be sad! I am not expressing support for Johnson but scepticism mps will ditch him . However I think the whole of government is in for a rocky ride in the next few years and Sunak facing political accountability for any decisions he makes at the treasury and not just the positive stuff might well make him a better all round politician. Political tumult is in the air though and the political benefit of the vaccine bounce is on borrowed time. Just my humble opinion!

    Boris Johnson

The way Gove went about it was a little bit psycho. Gove would have made an awful prime minister in my opinion.

    Boris Johnson

Playing a thoughtful devils advocate here but isn't Sunajs popularity at risk within the next year when he will have to make decisions regarding public spending and taxes that will upset and be hugely unpopular with many tory and non tory voters?

    The Dead of 2021

Awe I'm kind of saddened to hear that. I knew he wasn't returning but I liked the idea like with other characters such as Mavis Wilton and Bet Lynch of Norris being out there somewhere doing his thing...!

    Derby Dead Pool 2021

I have always thought of you and got the impression you are a highly skilled veteran consieur at deadpooling based on your forum posts although I haven't examined your success rate too much. I'm genuinely surprised you are on nul points but two points. The year isn't over, so a deluge in autumn is still possible but also perhaps this year you've just been unlucky. I think it happens to the best of deadpoolers. But I have always assumed admittedly with little analysis that you are one of the gold standard players on this forum.

Who Will Be The First Rolling Stone To Die?

I think at least one will go within the next few years and I expect to see their names increasingly pop up in deadpooling. But I agree it's amazing they are all still standing especially with some of the excesses I imagine some of them indulged in! A lot more fortunate than the beatles who lost two members before the age of 60.

Yes it often puzzled me why people predicted there would be a babyboom during the pandemic. Way too much anxiety and fear about health , jobs and the economy about for it to play out like that. On top of that far fewer opportunities for new couples to meet during a national lockdown.

I have a feeling that if Christina Crawford, Susan Harris or Rosemary Squires die that you will have a brilliant and witty obituary write up in you! Just a feeling that you will find a way to cleverly move from Golden Girls, Fairy Liquid or Hollywood Mommie Dearest references to Crumble references and quips! Just a hunch and I guess a hope that I have!

Bless you!! Even though you are stepping down I hope you enjoy digesting the names in my three 2022 crumble teams- I already have some vague possibilities in the back of my mind that I think would be good intriguing unique picks! But anyway back to the present for now as I am sure a few more of my uniques are going to be fruitful this year and make way for the next generation!!
