This one hits close to home. Very sad for us Detroiters. A longtime fixture of Detroit radio has passed away. Mike Clark, who was one half of the WRIF ‘Drew and Mike’ morning show died overnight. His longtime radio partner Drew Lane confirmed his passing. The duo's last show on WRIF was in 2013. Drew and Mike began a podcast in 2016, but Mike began appearing with less frequency shortly after they began due to health problems. They were ‘comedic’ in the Stern sense of the word minus the assholism. They were pretty funny guys, and the podcast was ok too. RIP SC

Robert Uretz, a professor of biophysics at what is now the University of Chicago Medicine, shifted from his career teaching science to becoming a top administrator as dean of the Pritzker School of Medicine of the Biological Sciences Division of the University of Chicago. Uretz, 94, died Sept. 14 of congestive heart failure. SC

Linda Kay, the Chicago Tribune’s first female sportswriter, who moved to Montreal in the 1980s, died Friday after a bout with cancer. She was 66. SC

Actually it's not Michael - it's Christion (with an O, so I was wrong too). His mother said he was making progress and squeezing her hand etc. Looks to have come out a day before or simultaneous with your link, and it's his mum after all. I'm checking her Twitter and nothing new to report, you would think a mum would post daily something besides 'God is powerful and is making this progress happen'. If there was any medical reason for her glee you would be almost certain she would have said so. Obviously I hope the kid recovers and is semi-normal. Brain injuries suck. SC

The lack of a Remigino obit is maddening, but got me to thinking who are a few names we kick around as celebs who may not get a QO after all. One I am thinking of is Sacheen Littlefeather. You would THINK her a lock for a QO, but really apart from her one claim to fame she is nobody (See: Remigino). She seems terribly tabloid though so should be ok. I mean -- Barys Kit no QO? Absurd....if I had told you you'd have had me put away. SC

As prosecutors were preparing closing arguments in his trial, David Michael Bruce, 68, a former teacher at Sycamore Junior High School, was found dead Wednesday morning after a friend went to check on him at his home. Bruce, who was free on bail, was found dead after he failed to show up for the 11th day of his trial, where he faced a possible life sentence if convicted, prosecutors said. Following his death, the case was dismissed. Bruce was facing nine felony charges of performing a lewd act on a child under 14, and two counts of lewd acts with a child between 14 and 15 years of age, according to an indictment filed when cops arrested Bruce in 2015.
