    1. Former governor of Oyo state, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has been reportedly rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, the capital of the state, over undisclosed ailment. Ladoja who is the leader of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, was reported to have collapsed during a meeting he held in Ibadan to review the chance of the party in the next weeks gubernatorial election in Osun state. 2. Former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, has debunked the rumour that he was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, after allegedly collapsing in his house on Friday. An online news medium had reported that Ladoja collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. The former governor said he was hale and hearty after taking part in the campaign of the African Democratic Congress governorship torchbearer, Fatai Akinbade. He said, “The report is not true and we have contacted the peddler of the rumour. Ladoja was having political meeting at home when the report was seen online. He is healthy and carrying out his political activities at this time with vigour. He did not collapse and he was not rushed to any hospital. He travelled to Abeokuta and Osun on Thursday and returned in good health. We dismiss the rumour.” Where there's smoke....? SC

    A Night To Remember

The wreckage of a ship that disappeared more than 100 years ago has been found in Lake Huron's lower Georgian Bay. An international team of divers found the J.H. Jones on July 1 near Lion's Head, Ontario. The coastal steamer had 30 people onboard when it vanished in 1906 during a storm. SC
  4. Are people dedicated to collecting something over a lifetime 'eccentric' enough for this thread? If not, please advise and move to the appropriate one. Jack DeVries, a veteran Bellingham (WA) retailer and collector of all things bicycling, died Tuesday, Sept. 11. He was 83. A onetime bicycle newspaper delivery boy, DeVries began his career in the bike industry working for Times Bicycle Shop in Bellingham in 1950 at age 16. In 1969, he opened his own shop in town, Jack’s Bicycle Center. The shop moved to its current location in 1995. DeVries exited the business in 2011 due to declining health. He passed away at Pacifica Senior Living in Peoria, Arizona, after a series of health issues, including a heart attack, two strokes and a hip fracture that required him to use a wheelchair. Jack was just as passionate about collecting cycling memorabilia. “Our old shop (pre-1995) was an old-time shop where you had everything stuffed into a shop that you could. There were a ton of antique bikes on the walls and ceiling,” son Kent recalled. “And his house from ’74 until he moved down to Arizona was nothing but bicycle stuff. Literally every nook and cranny you could see in the place." SC

    Deathrace 2018

Admins, please. This even makes Jessica Falkholt say 'who?'. I know this is crazy talk, but is it remotely possible Vento's 'pancreatic cancer' was a bit overblown, maybe just gas and bloating. After all, it's just a one sentence quote from him, not the care facility he was in. He's 100 after all, could be he dreamed up the extent of his malady. SC

    Do You Actually Research?

Well my M.O. is to take pics of screenshots. Then the 'research' is all on my phone. I can then scroll through them and update their present medical situations come December. Obviously Cup play kept me active 1/2 a year but those people are old hat Gonna have to see any new rules too and how a team would be best put together. (My point being I won't put any pen to paper prior to Dec, so no 'list' per se).

    Do You Actually Research?

I'm amazed anyone is thinking about DDP 2019 prior to Thanksgiving (U.S.). 4 weeks seems plenty of time to catch up and weed out a list of 20. Methinks. This doesn't mean I don't make notations of prospects throughout the year....but to compile a list? Ain't-a-gonna happen. SC

I've been told it doesn't apply across threads. As you can see I don't believe that. When you saw 'Broadway' thread had a new post, you had to know. Here's your prize.

Not sure how or why it happens, but I am seeing a few obit reboots at the top of my Google searches that will surely make the rounds on FB and elsewhere. Check dates today. Tony Burton, Rob Bironas are two I see immediately. Word to the wise.

Not a good month for the San Antonio Spurs Don Newman, an assistant coach who served on the staff of a pair of Spurs championship teams, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 60. Newman was a member of coach Gregg Popovich’s staff from 2004-2012, helping the Spurs win titles in 2005 and 2007. He left the Spurs in 2012 to become the lead assistant under Randy Wittman in Washington, where he remained until 2016. SC

Former Rabbit Hash Mayor Lucy Lou has died. The red and white border collie who served in office from 2008 to 2016 died Sept. 10. She was 12. Lucy Lou lived her entire life in Rabbit Hash. Since her political career took off Lucy Lou attended many charity events and served as spokespet for a women’s crisis center. Her term as mayor ended earlier than planned in 2016 when she voluntarily left office in order to help her hometown raise funds to rebuild the Rabbit Hash General Store. The 1831 historic building was destroyed by fire in February 2016. With the help of Lucy Lou and others, the Rabbit Hash Historical Society was able to rebuild and reopen the landmark within a year. His son said (a month ago mind) 'organ failure' so I guess it depends what organ(s) and what degree of failure and whether procedures can be successful enough on said organ(s) with said amount of failure in order to keep him salient. Clearly a matter of time, but just when is anyone's guess given the unknowns.
