Been To Any Good Gigs Lately?
Sir Creep replied to Brinsworth House Baiter's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Got my Texas dirt country music on last night; saw Cody Jinks in a 2500 seat auditorium (that was full); last time I saw him was in a bar what held 250 people, maybe 3 years ago. Only other band that happened with was The Cult, who had just changed their name from Southern Death Cult around 1984 and I saw at a similar 250 person venue, only to see them their next tour 2 years later at a 2500 seat auditorium. Ian Astbury said 'I doubt any of you saw us last time we were here' and I'm yelling right here mate! But he was right, couldn't have been more than a dozen of us if they took a head count. SC -

Carolyn Dumbleton, 52, has died after being thrown 60 feet from her bike while riding over a pothole. She went into cardiac arrest after being flung into the road, fracturing the top two vertebrae in her spinal cord. How else would a Dumbleton die?

Must be children's author day today. Christine Noestlinger, an Austrian author best known for her children's books such as "Fiery Frederica" and "Fly Away Home," has died at the age of 81. The Residenz publishing house in Vienna said on Friday that Noestlinger died June 28 after a short illness. She was the recipient of numerous prizes for her work, including the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1984 and the inaugural Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2003. SC

Missouri wildlife officials are reporting a sad ending to a month-long effort to capture a wild turkey that had its own Facebook page with more than 4,000 followers. The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that the bird, which became known as Tina the urban turkey, was struck and killed Friday morning after wandering onto a Columbia road. Tina was known for approaching people and sometimes blocking traffic. SC

I can't speak to Jock Scot, ..... but Butts presently has a single obit across the entire globe, and that from the Isle of Ibiza. After two weeks. How does that translate to an eventual QO? He was barely anyone of note anyway, quite honestly. But for him having the luxury of being born British, his chances would be nil. And that luxury I'll say is worth 3% at this point. I only say that to cover me arse.

Ha yes, Norton's gdamn Anthology. I do know it well. We need the Nortons Spade mentioned to drop over, and what with two of them late 80s, could happen. -
Ntongani Lucia, the widow of legendary entertainer Safirio Madzikatire popularly known as Mukadota has died. If that sentence means anything to you, I feel your pain. Otherwise, you're looking at the entire story. No age, no cause of death, no nothing. SC

Butts isn't getting an obit. Get over it.

You are right about Kit + NYT. Astonishing imho. It will remain the low point for obituary writers in 2018. Indefensible nonfeasance.

I am very pleased in the interest in my avatar, which the late great Dr.Zorders referred to as 'the best avatar' on the site. Or summat. I apologize for not noticing the theft, well done Cat. Actually this reminds me of a stunt I pulled on FB, going into someone's photos and pasting their photo as mine and then posting something on their wall. Oh the amusement never ended. I figured we could all do that and render FB meaningless (well, MORE meaningless) SC

“You are in breach of condition 15.4(c) of your agreement with PayPal Credit as we have received notice that you are deceased.” That’s the very real message a British man received three weeks after informing PayPal of his wife’s May 31 death from cancer at age 37. SC -
