    Thai Die

Quick back story: June 24: The search is on for a local soccer team and their coach that crawled into a cave through a narrow 15-meter long channel, leading to a series of caves up to three kilometers (1.86 miles) long. Rising waters then blocked the path, which is about as wide as a single person, leaving the group stuck inside the cave network. July 3: Two professional cave dive rescue squad folk locate the group huddled inside the cave on higher ground. Thanks to monsoon season, removing the water is quite impossible presently. So for now, pumping in oxygen and food is underway until they come up with a better solution. Will a solution be found? Let the games begin.... (MOD/ADMIN) This was supposed to lead off the thread

Yeah forgot the 16 yr old thing, but yes the coaches give us a push. It's a massive public interest story to boot, not like one kid fell 50' into a well or summat. You know and I know they ain't coming out alive. it's watching the world's agonizing 'hope' for the next few (weeks?) that will keep me making popcorn and tuning in. I think it's basically thread-worthy. Else we populate the shite outta this thread, don't matter to me. SC

Elon Musk is sending a team of engineers to Thailand to explore ways to help rescue a boys' soccer team stuck in a cave. ...because they weren't busy designing anything useful at Boring Co. Maybe send them into the crevasse, one by one. SC You know, charon, I think we need to start a thread for these boys. "30 Days in the Hole" possible working title. Mods -- move these comments, make that thread. This could go on for a while.

I guess this goes here. The Nigerian football federation has announced the death of Super Eagles ex-Physiotherapist, Olawale Oladejo. A former Super Eagles physiotherapist, Olawale Oladejo, is dead. The team made the announcement on Friday. Oladejo served as a backroom staff for the 2013 African Cup of Nations winning Super Eagles, guided by (now late) Stephen Keshi. SC

Somehow this got by us June 10 (so far as I can tell) Several hundred mourners from the world of local politics and business have said farewell to former Norfolk County Council leader Cliff Jordan, who died last month. Mr Jordan, who was a self-proclaimed "plain-talking Norfolk boy", stepped down as leader in May after his diagnosis of lung cancer. He died on 10 June, aged 73. SC

Oy vey you can't be that daft. OTOH, FACT information.... her age may have been exaggerated. The 1940 US Census says b. 1907 The 1930 US Census says b. 1909 Maybe that's why she's missing all the sudden. If it's 1909 she isn't a superC yet.

Dude, Colin Butts has one single solitary obit from Ibiza. No one anywhere else. At this point it would be astounding that he obits. If anyone here eschewed jumping on the Butts bandwagon solely for the reason they thought he may not obit, FTW! SC

On a serious note, there is an article in the Homer (AK) Tribune ironically 3 years ago today (July 7 2015) that I can't access. That is her hometown. could well be an obituary. If so, seems odd the powers that be don't know about it, so it's prolly a stock photo or summat and not an obit. SC

I think it's very fair to say 95% of all 111-year olds regardless of 'status' are dead 2 years later.
