Blues legend Jessie Sanders died Wednesday in his Memphis home at the age of 87. Sanders, better known as Lil' Howlin' Wolf, was born in Florence, Mississippi, on June 26, 1930. He grew up in Chicago and was mentored by Chester Burnett, better known as Howlin' Wolf. When Burnett died in 1976, Sanders took his stage name as a tribute to his mentor. SC

Cradle Fund CEO Nazrin Hassan died last week after one of his mobile phones exploded while charging. He was 45 and is survived by his wife and three children. He literally went from Cradle...to grave. SC

Billy Connors, a longtime Yankees executive and pitching coach, died on Saturday. He was 76. Connors was a fixture around the Yankees for many years, first joining the club at the end of the 1988 season. The next year, he began three stints as Yankees pitching coach. In addition to serving in that role in 1989-90, he also worked in that capacity in 1994-95 and 2000. He was perhaps best known with the Yankees for his time as vice president of player personnel from 1996 to 2012. SC
