I hate that there are people with the same name as the person I am searching. e.g. why the fuck does there have to be a Joey Vento who owned some restaurant in Phily who died? I type Joe Vento and his 'obit' pops up and I get all warm in the crotch only to see, once again, it's the guy from Phily. Fucker. SC -
Spade Cooley -- I agree in general with your take. I wouldn't put too much stock in the person on the other end of the list who is compiling said list and is making determinations with what appears not a great deal of knowledge. It would also help if they had an asterisk * with a 1-sentence definition of what they are calling a 1HW....then we could trifle with their definition rather than the songs they've posted. I once sat through some 'top 100 1HW' video show (on VH1 or summat) trying to figure out the top 5 or so (for my money, 'I Melt With You' is the 'best' 1HW song -- and I paid to see Modern English in concert lol) only to have them play 'I Ran" by Flock of Seagulls as #4....the whole thing was a sham at that point. I think you make a solid point though. There are legit 1HWs and Nena, who is on that list, is definitely a torchbearer (maybe not in Germany though, and that opens Pandora's Box). Carl Douglas as well. SC

You can’t fix stupid.....but you can take out its cervix. Maybe you CAN fix stupid. Isabel Munoz-Newsome, the lead singer of British band Pumarosa, says embarrassment stopped her from going for a smear test, after she revealed she's battled cervical cancer. SC

A popular name a couple months ago, Luis Palau has God on his side, and tests indicate he is on the mend. "Earlier this year, Vision News reported that evangelist Luis Palau had been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. After two months of therapy for the cancer the doctors were amazed at the results from the recent CT scan and blood work. Doctors reported that all tumours had shrunk by one-third, and blood tests looked good. There were no new tumours and all fluid around the lungs was resolved. The results were so uncommon that Mr Palau said the family is giving glory to God -- but not trusting God 100%, Luis now begins another two months of chemotherapy. SC

Rumors are running wild today that a Guangzhou college student cut off his own penis after his girlfriend said he was 'too small'. Videos and photos have circulated around Chinese social media showing a young man calmly walking around the campus of Guangdong Peizheng College in Guangzhou wearing only a t-shirt and nothing else below with dried blood covering his legs. If she thought he was too small before, just wait til she gets a load of him now! SC -
Prominent Bahraini Shia cleric Sheikh Isa Qassim, who has been stripped of his nationality by the ruling Al Khalifah dynasty, has been rushed to hospital over deteriorating health as the Manama regime does not shy away from its suppressive measures against pro-democracy campaigners in the country. Arabic-language Lualua television network reported that the 81-year-old cleric was hospitalized on Wednesday, without providing any further information. Bernie Ching, a founding member of the 1960s recording group The Surfers, died Friday in Honolulu. He was 79. Ching grew up in central Honolulu, and attended Glendale Junior College in California. It was there that he and three other young islanders — Pat Sylva and Alan and Clayton Naluai — founded the Surfers while they were taking a college choir class. A recording contract with Hi-Fi Records, a mainland record label, resulted in the quartet’s first albums — “On the Rocks,” “At High Tide,” “Christmas From Hawaii” and “The Islands Call.” The Surfers were later signed by another national label, Decca, which billed them for a while as “the Hawaiian Surfers” to set them apart from all the surf-rock bands of the 1960s. The group also sang backing vocals on the Elvis Presley movie soundtrack album, “Blue Hawaii,” although they were not mentioned in the production credits. Here is a link to the group's history. SC

Came across this for future reference: The American Heart Association is set to hosts its Permian Basin 'Go Red for Women' Luncheon in Odessa this May. Donna Hartley is set to be featured as keynote speaker during the event. The annual event aims to raise awareness toward preventable heart health issues, and raise money for the American Heart Association. Hartley is a former Miss Hawaii and actress who has survived cancer and open-heart surgery. “I love to do these because, being a heart survivor, I probably had only two weeks to live or I would’ve had a heart attack,” Hartley said. “So I want other people to become aware, so they check their heart before it gets to that crisis stage.” SC

Looks like the going to Switzerland to qualify for 'euthanasia' angle is going to be for not. The pancreatic cancer will have to run it's course now. Could be a while, shit--it can't even dispose of a 100 year old man (Joe Vento) supposedly. SC
