Again. Yes I have Mr. Benson presently on my Cup team, but I am a New Orleans Saints fan and really don't want him to die. But I'm not sure what to do with the media reporting that has Benson (90) being rushed to hospital, ICU, and then they backpeddling saying it was 'precautionary' and 'flu like symptoms'. I would be fine with that had he gone home a couple days later. There would be a report of him leaving the hospital, which there isn't. It's 2 weeks later. Do we keep people in hospital for precautionary flu like symptoms for two weeks? I say something else is going on and it's not being openly reported. (I guess this explains my taking a chance on my Cup team). Shame they can't be straight with us. SC

Maryland state Senator and former Democratic national delegate, Wayne Norman, died at his home. His wife said the senator had spent Saturday night having dinner at home, 'he went to sleep and never woke up'. The Bel Air attorney who represented parts of Harford and Cecil counties was 62. SC

You are not blocked Joey. Sorry I didn’t see your warning earlier. Long busy day at work + DPing, I just missed it.

I posted this right after I posted Arne. It was there. Now it's not. Well at least you picked up the slack.

Fair enough. Just the name I find conspicuous in it's absence, esp in comparison to at least 3-4 who have been on the DL the past two years. IF his one hit wonder wasn't the one hit that it was, and IF he wasn't the last surviving cast member, he would have zero merit. But both are true catapulting him from zero to 100% imho. Please note 'imho'. I am happy to agree to disagree. SC

Cool beans. Maybe in my next couple years. BTW congrats on your 5-year death anniversary PB

A Rosenberg man has been charged with manslaughter after he allegedly shot at another man wearing a bulletproof vest at a party in the Heights, Houston police said. The accused shooter, Jason Griffin, 39, has also been charged with felon in possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of body armor. Officers were dispatched early Sunday to a garage apartment in the 300 block of West 23rd, where a man had been shot in the chest. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Homicide investigators were working to determine whether the incident was the result of a dare. It was not immediately clear whether the bullet had gone through the vest or if the shooter had missed the vest. SC

How do you FB friend with them? I want to FB friend you people. You're the only ones who understand DPing for Christ sake. I'm guessing y'all don't have FB pages with these pseudonyms (who the hell would do that?), so you must know each others' real names???? Hmmm. Well dammit I want in. Yours, Lonely SC

We would be remiss beyond remiss to not mention Paul Bearer 5 years ago (58)

That's great if you're a Ruskie...... seeing as you didnt' mention Herman Mankiewicz on the same day as above. I'm sure that really put Prokofiev to Page A2 of papers in the States.

The people all said 'a-hunting we will go' for a casket 240 years ago for the man who composed Rule Britannia, Thomas Arne, a week before his 68th birthday.

No one rails on the Committee more than Sir Creep, and I don't see anyone this year who: 1. Is first and foremost quite a popular person (i.e. deathlisty) 2a. Known for some time to have a terminal ailment or condition. 2b. Known for a brief time to have the late stages of an ailment of condition that has come on quickly or been recently diagnosed. For me it's the King Abdullah's or Patrick Harrington's of the world who drop over before March, cuz everyone and their mother knew it was going to happen, and yet the Committee gets all belligerent and know-it-all-y and refuses steadfastly to be told who they will put on their list, and instead make sure Bob Barker has a slot. Being 'old' doesn't cut the mustard. In that case every old (95+) person should be on the list. Not very imaginative. So Bannister fails part 2 of the test for inclusion in this thread imho, so although I created the thread last year (and maybe the last two) I hadn't yet this year cuz I didn't see any GLARING errors. Rayya Elias/Jessica Falkholt are simply Joey Feek circa 2018. Not deathlisty. Not sure who all has been discussed, looks like primarily Bannister (I've addressed this in half a sentence), but I'm guessing all names proposed fail one or both parts of the Sir Creep test for what constitutes a 'big miss'. Believe you me, I will let em know should one occur. I think the only person for sure I will blast them for is Jerry Maren if/when he dies. Absolute MUST for inclusion until he leaves us. SC

Longtime Baltimore Orioles pitcher Sammy Stewart has died, the team announced Saturday morning. He was 63. Stewart made his MLB debut with the Orioles in 1978, striking out seven consecutive batters in his first appearance. Stewart pitched eight seasons in Baltimore, as both a starter and reliever. He led the American League in ERA (2.32) in 1981. Nicknamed the "Throwin' Swannanoan," Stewart played a key role in the Orioles' last World Series championship in 1983, pitching five scoreless innings in the series. In all, Stewart pitched 12 scoreless postseason innings between 1979 and 1983. The right-hander finished his career with a season apiece in Boston and Cleveland. He retired after the 1987 season with a mark of 59-48 and a 3.59 ERA. SC

My only takeaway from this is that Francesca Fioretti is available.

Sorry for the sad story, but it's a one upon which we should all reflect. A 2-year-old girl died Friday after a mirror fell on her while she was at a Payless ShoeSource store in Georgia, officials said. Ifrah Siddique was inside the Riverdale store with her family around 8 p.m. when the full-length mirror fell on top of her, officials told FOX5 Atlanta. The toddler, who was trying on shoes with her mother before the incident, was rushed to the hospital where the 2-year-old later died. An aside.....oh to be the attorney who handles that wrongful death/negligence lawsuit. They will be able to retire when it's over. SC

Before I open the obit, I PROMISE I'm not some old (54) crumudgeon who is stuck in the 70s and 80s. I listen to whatever, esp having a child presently. I also have 12 hours a day at work to listen to past or new shit on Youtube or Soundcloud. But I have never heard of a single band listed, and gun to my head couldn't tell you what genre it even fits in. This ain't the first time, but when you've been in 5 bands, by God shouldn't I know ONE of them? RIP Patrick Doyle, whoever the fuck you were. (Maybe it's a pile of U.K. bands that were famous locally?) SC

So many do....that's the rub. You gotta have cajones to choose one of these characters imho

Hard to believe he got an obit outside of Ohio. Way to go DI!

No one. Was talking about the obits.

Domino's puts the pepperoni under the cheese, and all employees should be executed for treason. (At least they used to lol....) I worked at a fantastic place 'Buddy's Pizza' around the Detroit area, a number of locations. Word is they are planning on going national or at least regional. I'm afraid what might happen to QC. I make my own pizza from scratch (sans dough, if someone wants to fire a recipe at me that'll work). I think we've sufficiently hijacked this thread haha.

My guy last round was the mayor of a town with 60000 people (as I touted, the 9th largest city in Minnesota lol). Maybe we need a threshold like 100,000? Does that make you a celeb? Not in a strict sense, but at least you were voted into office by more than your relatives and a few people you graduated school with. You could say 500,000 but then you've limited it to elected officials in about 30 cities in the States. Maybe that is fine and needed. Of course that would apply in the U.K. then, and really cut back on who is a celeb. What's good for the goose.... SC

Oh yea mom n pop places are great, and frankly we need to support them or they'll go the way of the dodo and we will have Pizza Hut left. That's true of all local small businesses. I know it can cost 10% more but I get what I can when I can.
