A bit of potential brewing in Georgia.....or somewhere. Timothy Cunningham (35), a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention researcher, has now been missing for two weeks, disappointed he was passed over for a promotion, Atlanta police said Tuesday afternoon. The Harvard-educated doctor, who'd called in sick on the two previous workdays before learning he failed to get the promotion, then asked to go home because he wasn't feeling well. It's believed Cunningham placed an unanswered call to his mother while driving to his Atlanta home, where police have since located everything Cunningham owned, from his car, wallet, and passport, to his dog. While colleagues say Cunningham was "obviously disappointed" not to get the promotion, police believe his work at the CDC is unrelated to his disappearance. Cunningham "had no access to classified material," per CNN. Yet Cunningham's parents say they were alarmed by texts and a phone call they received from their son the night before he disappeared. Without elaborating on either exchange, O'Connor said Tuesday that Cunningham also told a neighbor to have his wife delete Cunningham's phone number from her contacts. I think the cops and news stations are missing the big picture here. He doesn't need to come back with an AR-15 and shoot up the place. He's a researcher AT THE CDC! This is biological warfare waiting to happen. SC

Well keep in mind, though the pinnacle source for celebrity obits in USA, it's also the local paper for NYC. Just like your local paper. She was a New Yorker, lived in Manhattan, wrote for the Village Voice. So where you may be over-emphasizing her celeb, she is basically getting a local write-up. You don't see many other U.S. major rags giving an obit (yet) do you? (Washington Post, Phily paper). So yes it's a NYTimes obit, but not sure in this case it's going to go transcontinental. SC

The Ven. Bellanwila Wimalaratana Thera was admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital after he was injured in an alleged attack by the temple’s elephant. The Thera was found lying near the elephant either having slipped while feeding the elephant in the morning or pushed aside by it. The monk was rushed to the hospital by the devotees who were present in temple at the time. The devotees were concerned that the fall might have broken some of his ribs. SC

I couldn't find hardly any medical reasons to include anyone. If this thing is over in 6 months or less I'll abandon this website for as many days as the game took place. By-Election Bingo might finish faster SC

Ex-Major League Baseball pitcher Jack Hamilton died this week in Branson. He was 79. Hamilton signed with the St. Louis Cardinals to begin his professional baseball career. He pitched in the big leagues for the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox and California Angels (and unless the baseball card is lying, my Detroit Tigers). His career became known for one pitch. In a game in 1967, Hamilton hit Boston Red Sox slugger Tony Conigliaro in the eye. He nearly died. Conigliaro returned to baseball later but was never the same hitter. SC

I may be the only person who had the same sub in two categories. Needless to say she (yes she) didn't make my starting roster in either category. So there is at least ONE person who could potentially be listed in two categories, probably a couple others I missed. SC

Barbra Streisand said in a new interview with Variety that she successfully made two clones of her pet dog. The singer said that two of her Coton de Tulear dogs were cloned from cells taken from the mouth and stomach of her 14-year-old dog Samantha, who died in 2017. "They have different personalities," Streisand said of the two clones, Miss Scarlet and Miss Violet. "I'm waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her [Samantha's] brown eyes and seriousness." SC

A convicted murderer serving life in prison was killed shortly after escaping from a work detail in North Carolina when he crashed a stolen pickup truck, authorities say. David Woods, 46, bolted his outside work assignment from Gaston Correctional Center on Monday and was reported missing just before 1 p.m. He was killed approximately 90 minutes later when he crashed the truck at an exit off Interstate 85. The truck that Woods stole had belonged to the city of Lowell. It flipped over several times before landing in a ravine, and he died at the scene. SC

A man suspected of shooting and killing another man who was streaming live on Facebook in North Carolina was arrested Tuesday morning, authorities said. Douglas Colson, 65, was arrested on suspicion of shooting Prentis Robinson as Robinson was recording himself walking in the town of Wingate on Monday, Union County sheriff's spokesman Tony Underwood said. Robinson, a 55-year-old whose Facebook page is filled with videos of him playing instruments and walking down streets with a selfie-stick, was transmitting himself live on Facebook Monday morning when the shooting happened.
