Damn. Now I'm just waiting for that big music name, cause this is starting to become like 2016 now... Well that's bollocks. All the major death this year have been relatively obscure or reasonably old (over 70). I.e normal. I'd like to thank Time for this one. In my DP you need two writers and I couldn't come up with one after Huston Smith died at the last seconds of 2016, so I just took a flyer on Blatty. Yay me, and a thumbs up to Time. SC

Hey he appeared in the 1955 Ryder Cup -- the same year as that Japanese tennis player dude won US Open Men's doubles for the first time. Something amiss with 1955 accomplishments. Someone needs to make a list. SC

An “acute” digestive issue was what forced U.S. Rep. John Rutherford to be taken to an emergency room Wednesday evening after collapsing at the U.S. Capitol, according to the latest statement from his office. The congressman’s chief of staff, Kelly Simpson, states that Rutherford received medical treatment at the U.S. Capitol after his collapse. Then the freshman Republican, sworn in just over a week ago, was taken to George Washington University Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Stress getting to him after only one week! So you'd have eaten up a spot on DDP for four years gaining nothing, and worse, tipped off someone who may have put her on their team this year. Sounds a blessing. Accept your zero with a bit o pride but no regrets. SC She died in 2013, so wouldn't have been a waste at all! But would have been highly atypical to my overall 2013 performance... I'm fairly cool these days - folk die when not on lists all the time, either we didn't know they were ill, or discounted them and got proven wrong. Either way, not worth tearing your hair out about! Ahhh ok the way I read it she died recently, which seemed odd lamenting finding her back in 2012. That makes far more sense. Well I'm sorry for your loss. SC

I was going to post Pietro Bembo (470 years) only cuz it's a kick ass name, but apparently he created the musical form known as the 'madrigal'. Who knew. I thought Genesis did :-/ SC

I know what you mean.I know who ASIA where but not him. Wetton was the bassist for King Crimson on their later albums. I know that doesn't increase his fame rating but musically Starless and Bible Black is far superior to anything Asia released. That's true of all members of the band. Asia should t apologize for making some radio pop with a hint of prog. SC

Tommy Allsup in ICU. No word on if the Reaper's flipping a coin to decide whether to take him now or later. Sooner, I believe he's dead. Looking for a link.
