Legendary guitarist Joe Perry collapsed on stage Sunday night during a performance in Coney Island. Perry, 65, was playing alongside actor Johnny Depp and fellow rock star Alice Cooper with their side project Hollywood Vampires when he had to sit down on the drum set. Think he's gonna see 70? Now founding member and drummer Danny Smythe has died aged 67. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/danny-smythe-box-tops-dies/ It's not so much I don't know what search you performed to locate the Chilton post ('box tops' perhaps), but rather.... WHY? Why did u feel the need to tie these posts 6 years apart together? Smh It's ok I still love you Y-Dub. SC Like The Reaper, I'm putting the band back together.... I told my co-worker about the drummer dying and he said he was friends with Alex Chilton (he owned a N'awlins bar and played guitar so it seems). So now I'm hearing Chilton stories lol. He said Chilton had a high voice 'like a woman'. He asked him how come he didn't sound like that on The Letter.....Alex told him he had been partying and smoking and drinking etc late the night before they recorded and they went and recorded it and he was all raspy, and the band decided they liked it and wah-lah, a hit record. My co-worker said 'you know, at the end of the fight they give the bull's balls to the matador, it's a delicacy and it's an honour to receive them.' Then he says 'I guess that matador has eaten his last set of balls.'. SC

Lou Fontinato, who in seven seasons with the Rangers and two with the Montreal Canadiens made a reputation — and many fans — with his fists, if not necessarily with his skates or his stick, setting a record for minutes spent in the penalty box, died on Sunday in Guelph, Ontario, his hometown. He was 84. The National Hockey League reported the death on its website, saying Fontinato had recently been admitted to a nursing home after exhibiting signs of dementia. Dick Williams, manager of the Montreal Expos as well as a plethora of other MLB teams (he took four different teams to 90 victories), died 5 years ago. Interestingly perhaps is that I met him at a Montreal Canadiens hockey game and got his baseball autograph on the hockey programme. SC

Arturo, the only captive polar bear in Argentina, died of complications from old age on July 3 at the Mendoza Zoological Park. He was 30 years old. Known as one of the world's saddest animals, Arturo lived in conditions that animal advocates said made him go "insane." He often exhibited stereotypic behaviors, repetitive movements that arise from the stress of captivity. In the last few years, hundreds of thousands of people signed petitions calling for Arturo's rescue from his concrete pit in the arid South American climate, which can reach temperatures as high as 100 degrees in the summer. Don't cry for Arturo, Argentina. SC
