And the current Maryland Governor has stage 3 cancer. Nice place. SC (Edit: I believe -- though I haven't kept strict count -- that brings the number of former Governors who have died in 2015 to an astounding 8! Give or take one.)

Dr. Wayne Dyer, the self-help guru whose best-seller "Your Erroneous Zones" was adopted by millions as a guide to better living, has died at 75, his family and publisher said Sunday. Dyer died Saturday night in Maui, Hawaii, said Reid Tracy, chief executive of Dyer's publisher, Hay House. The cause of death wasn't immediately reported. 1. He really WAS a pioneer! Seems every household had a copy of Your Erroneous Zones as well as 'I'm OK, You're OK', the seminal books in the self-help field. At least on this side of The Pond. 2. Dyer was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in 2009 but claimed to have treated it with positive thinking, daily exercise and "psychic surgery" performed remotely by the Brazilian medium João Teixeira de Faria, better known as "John of God." He detailed the controversial treatment in an interview with Oprah Winfrey — for whom he was a friend and frequent guest for more than 30 years — in 2012. I think we found Dyer's erroneous zone: Between his ears. 3. Dyer: It's not just a surname, it's an adjective! SC

Edward John Barrington Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu, to give him his full moniker. Article up. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-34106225 A DDP team gets the motor running, head out on the highway.... A complete aside: Cajun French pronounces that surname BOWL-yay.... Or some mouthful-of-crawfish thing along those lines. Any Parisian French speakers can tell me how that should really be pronounced? Appreciated in advance. SC

Ok, so he was playing Jean Valjean at 21? There really is a limit to character acting, in his debut, well, this appears to be it. Boy in far older wig singing about the death of someone older than him. Who casts this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og7lqYmuEmw Tragic death though. Cast are probably miserables. I thought much of what you say Y-Dub. He was only an understudy though, then shit happened and he was Jean Valjean SC

Back to the United Transportation Union (UTU) we go. Retired former General Chairperson Robert E. Swert, 89, of Port Charlotte, Fla. and formerly of West Chester, Pa. died August 20, 2015, in Port Charlotte. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Swert hired out as a brakeman with the New York Central Railroad. Swert began his rail career as a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen (BRT), and later became a member of United Transportation Union (UTU) Local 2 in Toledo, Ohio. Later, Swert moved to the management side as director of labor relations and eventually retired as vice president of Conrail Labor Relations. Although Swert moved into management, he kept his union membership with the UTU and paid full dues up until his retirement. SC
