    Crashing Companies

    1. The link doesn’t appear to work. 2. That’s cuz CostCo is quite literally the best company in the world. I’m certain people who have both stores in their hood are shifting in droves to CostCo. We just opened a CostCo in Lafayette, LA a year ago so I’d be interested if the local Sam’s is one of those on the list of 63. SC

Stairway To Heaven/ Highway To Hell

66-72 ripe old age for musicians. Not so much about partying, and I’ve no idea who is or isn’t a smoker, but if you played gigs in smoky venues 8-10 times a month for 20 years, it would take its toll. It’ll be interesting in 50 years to see what effect the changes in bars etc to non-smoking in most places has on musician longevity. Sadly I won’t live to see the results of such a study but I think it’ll be quite damning evidence supporting the dangers of second hand smoke. SC

    Animal Antics

A Florida man now living in Bali is fighting for his life after he fell from a roof while chasing a monkey that had stolen his favorite Pittsburgh Steelers cap. The Northwest Florida Daily News reported that Jeff "Swede" Swedenhjelm fell 33 feet. Villagers took him to a local hospital, where they found severe damage to his spinal cord. He currently is paralyzed from the chest down. Lyric Swedenhjelm, who lives in Destin (FL), said the family is trying to get her father to a country with a spinal specialist. She said Swedenhjelm is in a medically induced coma and is on a ventilator. The family has started a fundraising page on GoFundMe, which has already raised more than $36,000. SC

    Derby Dead Pool 2017

Just FYI on January 11 2018 I did one final 'once over' on the List of the Lost 2017 and was unable to unearth anything new (published in 2017). So I'm putting it to rest. Onward 2018! SC

The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous

The girlfriend of actor Keanu Reeves was killed when her car overturned in an early-morning crash in Los Angeles, police confirmed last night. Jennifer Syme, 29, died instantly when her Jeep Cherokee four-wheel drive hit three parked cars and overturned in Hollywood, partly throwing her out of the vehicle. Ms Syme had been treated for depression after her baby daughter was stillborn in January last year but Los Angeles police last night said it was not known if drugs or alcohol had been a factor in the crash. Why does DDP accept bbc.co.uk/sport but not bbc.co.uk/music ? As I recall this would have nabbed a QO for Delpech, and I'm going over a few Lost celebs and right off the bat Luis Bacalov is shown as deceased. It's the BBC after all. I am sure there is a reason that I'm unaware of, such as it isn't a news section rather moreso entertainment or summat. Anyway...I'm going to check some other 2017 Lost one last time, then let them RIP after today. SC

    ALS/MND/other degenerative diseases

Another update on Clark. Clark said former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo, who researched the disease with fervor, helped alert him to a new medicine for ALS called Radicava. Because it became available in Japan before being distributed in the U.S., Clark flew to Japan to get a three-month head start. He’s also encouraged by progress being made in Israel with stem-cell studies. SC

    Fat And Fearless

He was a fat ass, this is the thread he belongs in. Fat kid, virtual certainty a fat adult. Died of sleep apnea, from fat folds of fat in his fat nostrils choking him. Actor Joseph Wayne Miller who appeared in the 1990s Disney movie “Heavyweights,” died at the age of 36. Miller’s mother, Patricia, said that he died in his sleep in Chicago on Tuesday, Jan. 9. The cause of death is not yet known (though his mother goes on about sleep apnea), and his girlfriend reportedly discovered his big huge fat dead body.
  17. Y'all only picking him cuz last year's winner had him as a rare miss. Inverse Joker written all over it. You prolly had Bracknell at 90% last year, another one I told you wasn't going to die. As for the Elvis Aron Presley moment, the letter was written by Patrick CLYNE. You've all been duped! SC Patrick Clyne's emotional letter in full "I am living on borrowed time. I live in pain, but living is better than the alternative. Cancer is insidious, cruel and rapacious and I implore everyone to have regular checks to stop it gaining hold. "Recent months have brought into focus the things that are important to me. I have spent a lot of my life pursuing the ultimately pointless when there were better things to do. My family have always been important to me but I should have spent more time telling them so. "I do now and it creates joyfulness in our relationships. Of course, my football club has been important too and I am lucky that my family have shared my love of Barnsley FC. "For much of the time since I became the club's buyer of last resort, I allowed others to run the club, fearing that I did not know enough to win the respect and supporter of the 'football people'. It is ironic therefore that we enjoyed one of our most successful periods when I did take up the mantle ending in two successful visits to Wembley. "Maybe, one day before too long I will tell the secrets of how we did it. Certainly, the whole club working as one was instrumental. I don't know if we will ever repeat the sense of togetherness of that season, which extended also to the fans, their tolerance and incredible support. "There are many things I wanted to achieve before my custodianship of our fabulous team ended at the hand of the grim reaper. Of course, I wanted to see us get back to the Premier League and make since enhancements to the iconic West Stand. On a personal level, I wanted to bring back together all the 1912 cup final medals, but I only managed to retrieve five. "Most people realise I was a reluctant custodian but what has made it bearable against the occasional cruelty of the internet world is the kindness shown to me by so many fans on a personal basis. "People are not shy in coming forward and telling me they appreciate my efforts, even if I have fallen short of their aspirations. I receive many letters and cards from fans who share with me their memories and best wishes. I am grateful to them all. "Regarding this season, I think we will get stronger as it goes on and our team gels, not unlike the double Wembley season. I do not expect to live to see the ultimate outcome, but I travel in hope. "I wish you all a good football season and thank you for your kindness down the years."

Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

Cancel My Appointments (DDP) will have Dana Scatton as it's honourary team GM, and will continue to push forward on a very sensible DDP rule change that allows points for anyone who is 18 at death, and not needing to be 18 on Jan 1. The Malala Yousafzai rule. I fail to see why this isn't the rule to begin with. We will argue until Dana is blue in the face, or about 60 days. I have presented my case for a non-arbitrary rule, and hope those who oppose explain the arbitrary version the game is played under presently. SC

Seems like the masses have spoken, and they are certainly correct and I wrong. Surely I looked at Bobby Zarin and wrote his name down, but a quick look and if that Daily Mail don't come through you can forget about a QO. I crossed him off pretty early on as an unlikelihood of getting a QO, and without a finger on the pulse of UK media, I'm apparently wrong. What's new? Guess we will see soon enough, he won't see Easter. SC

    Voice Actors

Canadian-born Alan Bleviss, who swayed the American people as the signature voice of the Democratic Party and lent gravitas to hundreds of movie trailers and TV commercials, has died. He was 76. Bleviss died Dec. 30 in New York City after a long battle with lung cancer, his daughter Sarah Jenny Bleviss told The Hollywood Reporter. Classic movie lovers will know his sonorous, honeyed voice from one-minute movie trailers for Scarface, Dirty Dancing and On Golden Pond, as the voice of Enterprise rental cars commercials and as a host of other blue-chip advertisers like AT&T and American Express.
