    Zsa Zsa Gabor

He has given his first interview on her death, hinting it came about suddenly, his definition of suddenly is different to mine. http://www.express.de/news/promi-und-show/-so-wollte-sie-es--prinz-frederic-spricht-zsa-zsa-gabors-letzte-stunden-25335652 LOL, clearly, he has to be kidding. One doc has recently proposed euthanasia for Zsa Zsa, so it could not have been that surprising for him. OTOH, I understand his crocodile tears. No more Zsa Zsa = no more publicity, no more nice mansions (due to be evicted), and he might even have to spend some of her money on the funeral. Poor Prinz.

    The 11Th Death Of 2016

The Reaper's gotta hurry if he's got any other presents for us. This time, I'll definitely go with 'none of the above'.

Interesting that it's still not her dying, though their age difference reveals that he could not have been her biological child and I don't think they had a very close relationship. In fact, I don't think she had any kind of meaningful relationship with anyone other than his hubby and nurses for the last couple of years, so Eric's death would likely not affect her in any way.

    Rodrigo Duterte

He only has to hang on for 23 days... He could be good for an unnatural-death-only (sans death penalty) deadpool. But otherwise, he's too healthy and not the kind of guy who'd die early of a stroke or heart attack. He's kind of dumb as well, so I don't think he'd develop guilty conscience either.

Even everyday heavy drinkers have only around a 1 in 3 chance of developing chronic liver failure. That, and he's still not old at 49. (He looks a wee bit older than that, thanks to his drinking habits.) So he has plenty of time to develop 7 different types of cancer* (including hepatic cancer) or just chronic liver failure. * http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/causes-of-cancer/alcohol-and-cancer/how-alcohol-causes-cancer

Cost them their jobs as well. But what I don't really know is why did they do what they did? Did Sachs wrong them? Did they think it was funny?

    McDonald's - bad for your health ...

Bit reminiscent of the heavy smokers who still make it to at least 90. Like Fidel?Or "Hungarian director and Cannes nominee" Miklós Jancsó: http://uk.reuters.com/article/us-jancso-idUKBREA0U1D620140131 Frequently depicted with tobacco pipes in his mouth, he died at the ripe old age of 92 after a battle with lung cancer. Beware children, smoking kills!

    42. Raul Castro

A wise decision if he sticks to it. The stress and responsibilities that come with a presidency are probably too much for an 87 year old man (and could easily result in a stroke or heart attack), and he could damage his reputation and his country if his cognitive abilities start to decline.

I doubt this story is true like many of Anhalts claims.I find it hard to believe she is mentally capable of giving consent.Maybe the Doctor wants to bend the rules to just put her out of her misery though.I have heard of Doctors taking the law into their own hands by overdosing patients that are in the final stages of life so maybe she really is near the end now. If she's incapable of giving consent, her guardian (Prinz von Anhalt) could request euthanasia on her behalf. Moreover, the doctor can only escape potential homicide charges if the patient (or their legal guardian) has twice requested a deadly dose. Von Anhalt, however, was outraged by the suggestion, so ZsaZsa might still make the starting line for 2017.

    Fidel Castro

Fidel is dead, but Raúl isn't. At 85, he himself is getting old, and in time could replace his brother on the list. He's nowhere near as charismatic or interesting, but he's still highly obitable as Cuba's all powerful president. And his death might mark the end of an era, since he's the last man standing from the winning team of the Cuban revolution (Cienfuegos and Che Guevara were killed decades ago). While Fidel's death had high symbolic significance, Raúl's death or resignation might pave the way for a democratic revolution. Or a civil war.

    Fidel Castro

Wasn't he elected?Yes he was. He and his party (People's Action Party) has won every election since Singapore was established. That was in part since he and his country were extremely successful, but at least initially, he had to resort to measures that would seem quite unusual in a liberal democracy. The context? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Coldstore
  13. GossipGabe

    Fidel Castro

Oh, how naïve you Westerners can get. Stand down to have free elections... and have a puppet regime installed by the CIA that's just as oppressive, ugly and undemocratic. You could've noticed them everywhere in Latin America from Pinochet's Chile to the Contras in Nicaragua. It might be hard to justify his anti-American stance when you examine his actions through your biassed 21st century prespective, but the Cold War was a bit different. At that time, the Americans clearly preferred any loyal and anti-communist dictator to any left-leaning democrat (note that not all of these were hardline Stalinist commies). Of course, Castro was no saint, but nor was Nixon or Kissinger, and you have to analyze their behaviour in a Cold War context in order to make sense of what they did to Latin American peoples.

    The 10Th Death Of 2016

Would be nice to finish with double digit figures, although at this time of the year and with the obvious terminal cases (Crowe, Bhumibol) already gone, it might just be... none of the above.
  15. GossipGabe

    Fidel Castro

Yeah, I had just enough time to think "What dumb no-namer has bumped Castro's thread?" before I saw Willz's post. Blimey. I didn't suspect anything serious either. Fidel has always provided lots of discussion fodder besides his health because of... politics. And many fake terminal illness or death reports have also surfaced in the last few years. When he stepped down almost a decade ago I though he would already be suffering from bowel cancer and might have months to live at most. Turns out I was wrong, but the 13th appearance on the Deathlist proved to be unlucky for him! ¿Viva la revolución?

    Zsa Zsa Gabor

Would be funny if she did die then as the Prinz has been planning Zsa Zsa 100th Birthday for years, if she died a matter of days before she reached it he would be fuming, still it ain't going to happen she will still be here in 10 years time knowing her. I hope the Prinz will let her go after her 100th birthday. If he loses the house in September 2017, it will be useless to keep her alive. To be honest that is the only reason he is keeping her alive so he has a roof over his head, he isn't doing it because he loves Zsa Zsa in fact he is abusing her really if he did have any feelings for her he would let her go and be at peace as an animal wouldn't be allowed to suffer in the way she has and continues to do so. The real question as to Zsa Zsa mortality is how long he can keep the House, if he loses it next year she will die as what use will she be to him, also surely moving her would be too much for Zsa Zsa body, but would a Court really throw a 100 year old woman who has Dementia, has one leg due to Gangrene and has numerous other health issues out onto the street? Somehow i doubt it and therefore the farce will continue for years to come as the Prinz has know one to answer to especially as Zsa Zsa only daughter Francessca is dead. Prinz is obviously Jesus's bro, how many times did he get her back to life? We should ask for some of his magic for a longer life. Or at least the secret way he keeps resurrecting her.... She might not even need to be resurrected. If the relatives have the financial means, modern medical science has ways to keep even almost-brain-dead patients (ie. those in persistent vegetative state) alive for many years or even decades (Terri Schiavo, Ariel Sharon, Sunny von Bülow, perhaps Michael Schumacher). Fed through a feeding tube (like ZZG), breathing could be replaced by mechanical ventillation, kidney function replaced by dialysis, nursed 24/7, they could be kept alive for years, until an infection takes them or life support is terminated. She's even shielded from harmful external influences (cold weather, flu, emotional distress [her daughter's death], you name them) that could shorten her "life".

    Hillary Clinton

And even then, the "winner" of the Electoral College had only won a plurality (and not the majority) of electoral votes, unlike Trump, who clearly won fair and square. It's not even as close as Gore's case was in Florida. By the way, in this situation, Ryan or the House of Representatives could not crown anyone since there'd be no contingent election. Since only Hillary or Trump won electoral votes, one of them would surely be declared a winner without Ryan's assistance (a 269:269 draw, while theoretically possible, would necessitate altered results in more than the three battleground states they talk about). When Hillary was the first to congratulate Trump I thought she would gracefully and quickly give it up, even if she won the popular vote, there's basically no chance that she'd win, even after a recount (which would then just waste the tax payers' money). Would you pay millions of dollars just so Hillary could sleep better ("rest assured") knowing that Donald Trump really did win the elections?

Sir David was recently interviewed on one of em YouTube channels.* He seemed to still possess his marbles (and as healthy as a 90 year old could get), although he might have intended PE2 to be his swan song. *Interview from 3:00 (you might wanna fast forward cause it's quite boring):

I personally wouldn't bother with him right now. It is prostate cancer, which is more often curable than not. He says they think it has spread to his back. Local prostate cancer is usually considered treatable, but aggressive, metastatic prostate cancer can indeed kill you. Dennis Hopper (the star of Easy Rider) died in 2010 from prostate cancer that metastasized to his bones. And the fact that he's quite old at 82 might make his treatment a bit harder/riskier. If his doctors' suspicions are confirmed, he is definitely game for 2017 or 2018.

Specifically, a hormone-producing pituitary tumour (prolactinoma). But before you get all excited about having a dead cert in their 40s with a guaranteed qualifying obit, let's consider her prognosis. http://www.cancer.org/cancer/pituitarytumors/detailedguide/pituitary-tumors-after-follow-up You could as well include Selena Gomez, I've heard she had lupus!

    Leonard Cohen

So he probably would've died in a year or so anyways.Perhaps. We don't really know what kind of cancer he had though. If we believe David Remnick's account (The New Yorker), he was very thin and had compression fractures in his spine, which suggests terminal (advanced) cancer (primary bone cancer is kind of rare so my guess would be multiple myeloma or metastatic prostate/lung/etc. cancer).

    Leonard Cohen

(...)Well how did anybody know he fell before he died in his sleep? If there were obvious injuries then, well, its hardly going to be a pain free and peaceful death, is it!! (...) I can imagine some scenarios, where a relatively painless death could be possible:1.) a./ He went to the loo during the night, fell unconscious due to a seizure (<- brain metastasis); was put into bed by his nurse/son and died of internal bleeding or other injuries while never regaining consciousness. "Died in his sleep" is then a euphemism for dying while in a coma. 1.) b./ The same as above, except he fell due to his reduced mobility (compression fractures due to bone cancer or metastasis) and lost his consciousness since he hit his head during the fall. 2.) He fell from a (high) bed during his sleep, hit his head into a hard object (wheelchair, walker etc.) and died due to head trauma / internal injuries while never regaining consciousness. The question is, does any of these qualify as an unnatural death?

    Zsa Zsa Gabor

I bet she woulda made a good reality show contestant though (or a central figure in a show like the Kardashians and the Osbournes). Her acting abilities were nothing special, but she had a unique kind of self-deprecating humour, charisma and glamorous looks in her heyday.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2017

A simple web search came up with nothing useful, but being quite old herself at 80 and presumably overcome with grief she could have plenty of other reasons to delegate the task of breaking the news to someone else. (And even if she suffers from mild dementia /cognitive decline like a lot of octogenarians that doesn't tell us anything useful about her mid-term survival chances.) Since she's mostly been outside the spotlight since her marriage, I'm not sure that she'd get a QO anyways (although her sons are also famous).

    The 100 Club

So far, the closest thing to a QO for her is a Washington Post article, which is a reputable source, but not from the UK. On the other hand, it was published just 3 hours ago and offers the possibility that a British newspaper could quote it tomorrow.https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/lupita-tovar-actress-in-spanish-language-version-of-dracula-dies-at-106/2016/11/13/4612ca16-a9ad-11e6-977a-1030f822fc35_story.html
