There's something wrong with your link, a very strange and subtle error (a final space that gets interpreted as a part of the URL in my browser). Anyways, I'm almost sure someone was doing this on purpose. Perhaps, the first incident was accidental, but now someone was trying to make his incompetence clear for everyone, including his ZANU-PF lackeys. I guess this person is trying to instigate a coup or at least a forced resignation, since even the people closest to him should be embarrassed by this. Or at least I would be.

I agree with you that he's still not safe, but they were clearly talking about a BRAIN scan (MRI). It'd be funny, if they scanned his liver in a brain MRI machine, wouldn't it? But even if the bulk is gone, the MRI is likely unable to detect small (microscopic) quantities of cancer cells and micrometastases in his brain. Doctors tend to avoid the word "cured" unless the patient has been cancer free for at least a year, so it's too early to talk about a miracle…
-
He's also got that pumped up steroidy look. Bears a passing resemblence to Piers Brosnan now, or is it just me? Sods law, he's either going to be one of these huge misses due to end stage throat and brain cancer, or one a lot of folk pick (ala Aretha in 2011) who turns out to have utterly treatable things wrong. Short of a public announcement before Hogmanay, he doesn't feel worth the risk to me. Most of the tabloids take his throat cancer for granted, and the scarf+the tracheostomy tube make me say that they might just be right this time. On the other hand, early stage throat cancer is not necessarily terminal, and even if he can't be cured, he can linger on for several years or even a decade. (René Angélil has had throat cancer since 1998 and can still provide a sure hit for many teams in 2016 [18 years later].)

Thank GOODNESS I haven't submitted my DDP team yet... and I was writing the email when I clicked on this thread!Even if they could achieve a total response (and a remission), it's too early to tell whether it can be sustained. I'd still consider him...
-
Well, normally a respiratory infection is not terminal, but at 99 one needs to take even these small ailments seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if he recovered, but he might be our best bet for the 15th hit.

The fact that he had prostate surgery seems to have been confirmed by Iranian government sources. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/08/iran-supreme-leader-ayatollah-ali-khamenei-prostate-surgery I guess that means that he either had benign prostate hyperplasia or prostate cancer, with the latter being more likely. But don't get your hopes up yet, cause prostate cancer is a very common, and in most cases, treatable form of cancer. As for the rumour, he was claimed to have incurable, stage IV (metastatic) prostate cancer with an expected survival time of 2 years in 2014, but these reports (attributed to Western intelligence sources) were not confirmed (and are unlikely to be ever confirmed) by the Iranians. But then, Western intelligence sources thought there were WMDs in Iraq.

Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets

Sprouting terrorism panic. I just love the idea that I should be really really afraid of something that I'm not even allowed to know the slightest bit about. It's clear a manhunt for that bloke so why not say so? There might be a bit more to it than just one bloke. I guess they might want to find some more associates or other members of the same terrorist network as well. Salah Abdeslam himself is not a huge threat anymore, cause virtually everyone was exposed to his face (which was visible on websites, in magazines/newspapers, on the telly etc.), so anyone spotting him would call the police and/or start to run. -
Yeah, being HIV+ is only dangerous if you-don't suspect that you have it, and only discover it after it has been transformed into full-blown AIDS and it has made way for a nasty opportunistic infection (HAART might still help at that point, but the situation is not ideal). -know that you have it, but don't have money for the medications. -are promiscuous, unlucky and you get HPV as well as HIV from your sexual partners, in which case you might get something really really nasty like cancer of the anal canal. Yes, one get get it even if they are on HAART (though they have higher cure rates than those who don't) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2780243/ So I suspect that Charlie is probably not in danger (right now), but some of his partners might be.

True that. But he wasn't very picky so the obits would be in question. Unless the ensuing court cases (initiated by the dying victims or their distraught relatives after their death) help them get some press coverage.

Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets

Yep, 'cos that's going to stop the guys already in Europe preparing to blow shit up! Why do we never learn! It's to satisfy those that want the deaths to be avenged. It's not going to stop this that are already on the move in Europe, but it's a display of strength for the French forces. It's a bit akin to the Americans' reaction after 9/11. The American public wanted blood, and they got it, both Afghan and Iraqi blood and American blood. The US could topple the Taliban, could kill Zarqawi, Bin Laden (although it took almost 10 years) and even marginalized Al Qaeda; only to be replaced by ISIS, which is more ruthless and barbaric than it's "predecessor" ever was or dreamt to be. -

Yeah, no one said that there was, you can't be completely safe from terrorism even if you restrict the flux of migrants, but by letting all Syrians come to Europe en masse, you definitely increase the risk.Of course, they also needed some members who had been there for a long time and had known where and how such an attack can be carried out. We do know that at least one terrorist was a (Halibut) French citizen born in France. But this is a numbers game and it's not irrelevant if we are dealing with hundreds or thousands of potential terrorists. But we know where the leaders are. The difficult thing is getting rid of them and then leaving conditions behind which only encourage more leaders to come forward. The last Iraq campaign succeeded in the former but failed miserably in the latter. Yeah, it would be a naïve assumption that if al-Baghdadi is killed, the Islamic State can be defeated overnight. Osama bin Laden and al-Zarqawi were killed and that didn't make the world a much safer place. Al Qaeda and IS are rival global terrorist franchises where not the leader but the global Jihad and a deep hatred for the West (Christianity, secular values, liberalism etc.) is what provides a cohesive force. One important thing that the Western leaders are reluctant to admit is that the Halibut world is not yet ready for democracy. Saddam, Assad and Gadhafi were ruthless dictators and nasty people by our standards, but at least they didn't want to introduce a hardcore version of wahhabism with sharia and global Jihad in their countries. We helped to topple them only to see even more nasty and more dangerous people seize the power and bring chaos and destruction to Iraq, Syria and Libya. At least the US & France could have finished the job and install a pro-Western secular dictator... And let's not forget about the Gulf states, America's "faithful allies" where the funding comes from. -
AiDs can cause infections in the mouth and throat that can resemble cancers. Other health isses related to HiV/Aids: skin cancer, weight loss, stomach problems, fevers, AiDs-related DIMENTIA (10% get this), infections, etc. Maybe Charlie Sheen is a good candidte for 2016 - if suicide doesn't get him first. Hope his will is iron-clad and he leaves everything to his kids - before his bimbos start suing him for exposing them to AiDs. When did the rumour mill elevate him from being HIV+ to full blown AIDS? I guess Guest's argument was like "if he has cancer, he must have AIDS", and specific types of cancer (e.g. Kaposi's Sarcoma) are indeed often the first obvious sign of AIDS. On the other hand, even if he has throat cancer (or a precancerous condition) and even if he's HIV+, I'd suspect an HPV infection instead of full-blown AIDS. And that precancerous condition could be a benign papilloma.

well I saw zorders bring up the groundless speculation fact that the attackers could be refugees so my guest would be a place where a lot of refugees are being taken in like Germany. FTFYFYI, http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34820016 So no, it was far from being "groundless speculation", I'd even say this massacre was an inevitable consequence of what European leaders have done in the past five months. While Dr. Zorders might not be PC or even fair to the innocent real refugees, the reality is that Mrs Merkel and co. were introducing a fifth column into Europe by encouraging mass migration (without proper security/filtering procedures) and they will soon regret this mistake. -

I think we should send you as a peace envoy to Raqqa to negotiate with them. Since it's a risky endeavour, unfortunately we can't provide any armed (or unarmed) escorts for this mission, but we'd wish you good luck and all the best. What do you think? -
Well, it might be tempting to idolize these teams as poor little underdogs that achived great things against a skewed playing field, but at least regarding the most famous Honvéd team in the early fifties with Puskás and the other "Mighty Magyar" folks, the real situation was a little bit bleaker. At the time, it was obviously the regime's favourite team (btw. honvéd means soldier in Hungarian) and some talented players in other teams were simply ordered to sign with Honvéd (sometimes against their will), leaving little chance for the other teams that were more popular with the people (like Ferencvárosi TC).

Thanks God, it was not in, just near the Stade de France, where thousands of people watched the match between the Bleus and the Krauts. I guess it coulda been a lot worse if the attack had taken place inside the stadium. (I guess, Hollande was evacuated as a safety precaution, but they did finish the match - the final score was 2:0 for France.) -
Well, I have to say that at this stage (in mid November) "none of the above" is a sound choice, a lot more likely than any individual candidate on the list. If I had to wager real money on this, I would have picked that as well - but since it's only a "free" game I went with someone more interesting. A record year with 15 hits is something I really look forward to...

I guess that's good news for him and his family. All of the interviewees in the report seem quite optimistic (perhaps overly optimistic) about his prognosis, so we can be reasonably sure that he'll at least make the starting line in 2016 (and he's not a dead cert next year either). But despite all the optimism, an inoperable cancer in the brain usually presents significant challenges for the oncologists (due to the importance and sensitivity of the brain and the blood-brain barrier), so he could still be considered for the main list. At his age, and being such a high-profile figure, he shouldn't be considered for the list, he IS on next year's list, and likely at #1 position. Well, I do agree that he should be put on the list. But since I'm a polite guy, I formulated my position as a suggestion rather than as a demand. After all, it lies with the honourable DeathList committee to decide who should and shouldn't be on the list. I was just a little worried that they might be dissuaded from including him by the prognoses of the (renowned but likely cautiously optimistic) cancer specialists in the article. E. g. Basically, what she's implying is while his condition is likely incurable, he might still have a life expectancy of one to two years (as opposed to just months).

Fucks up the search function though and that does matter. Well, if it's only in his signature, it's kinda invisible for the engine anyways. For posts, yes, that does matter for the search engine, but if he posts a link with the name embedded inside the URL, it might still find it (at least, if you search for the surname).

I'm gonna vote for Crowe till he's dead.

At any rate, he's not old and/or sick enough to be seriously considered for the main list. There's an outside chance of an accidental overdose or a mad fan stabbing him in his house or something…

Clash Of Helmuts - Which Will Die First?
GossipGabe replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
Mind you, Kohl is still not healthy... but Schmidt is 96, and at that age, a serious health crisis is unlikely to be resolved. -
That raises a couple of questions though. Did anyone permit his personal physician to publicly speculate when he'd die? Isn't there any legislation in Germany preventing doctors from... divulging medical secrets? Or at least the Hippocratic Oath?
