Too many smoked sau-sa-ges? (If you don't get this, you are probably under 45).

This made me chuckle:

So Flybe was rescued two years ago. Now it's fucked again: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-64436500 Retaining only 44 jobs. I'll never understand people who want to throw themselves 35,000 feet (whatever that is) into the sky.

Report that Canadian player for among others the New York Rangers, Bob Chrystal, has died:

Death Notice of Lady Anne Nevill (nee Wallop), a daughter of Gerard Wallop, 9th Earl of Portsmouth, and widow of Lord Rupert Nevill, a former President of the British Olympic Association and private secretary to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/262189/nevill Lady Nevill was a childhood friend of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Death by Bongo!
-
Not going to mention Ghost Light - fuck, I just did. There are some amazing punctuations in Sylvia Syms career - Ice Cold In Alex, The Punch And Judy Man, Espresso Bongo. How she ever played Maggie Thatcher AND the Queen Mother, I'll never know. Still a Peter Bowles associated death (the 2022 hangover continues), co-starring in Together from 2018. LEGEND! RIP.

Well, I recall they did consider adding GB News this year, but didn't. With Yahoo along with the others, if you can't get an obit, your pick just wasn't enough for the DDP. Maybe they could institute the Ronnie Hellstrom Memorial Award for most famous on the List of the Lost.

Report that the American screenwriter Gregory Allen Howard, responsible for Remember The Titans and the story for the biopic Ali, has died: If true, he was only in his early sixties.

Thea Gregory gets a full Telegraph Obit, so that should probably allow some Wiki tidying: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/obituaries/2023/01/26/thea-gregory-obituary-actress-john-gregson/

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?
YoungWillz replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Jesus, now I'm watching The Traitors - with Americans. And I thought our lot were shallow... I'm already getting the palpitations though.... -
From the Fringes/Family Thread: Turns out her mother in law was Shirley Dynevor-White, an actress who worked with Joan Littlewood and went on to have several screen appearances before becoming a stage manager for Corrie. Therefore notable in her own right and indeed has garnered a Guardian Obit: https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2023/jan/25/shirley-dynevor-white-obituary

I think missing folk are excluded from the DDP on the grounds of the issue a few years ago establishing a date of death.
-
As always, I'm pleasantly surprised just how few issues there are, relative to the size of the monster that is the DDP. Glad to see we are on our way, well done to the DDP Committee for all your hard work (and hard work to come). There will of course be much sorrow as the world loses our beloved celebs, never forget their contribution. Those hated celebs however...well, meh.

Yep, time to review those Best Picture Oscar Nominees: Michelle Yeoh takes time to mop up the vomit in Everything Everywhere Ill At Once. Tom Cruise enacts his famous character's childhood in Pop Gun: Maverick. 50s Rock n Roller plays to the immigrants to the USA on the island of Ellis. Lesbian conductress uses her arm waving skills to escape from the canvas sheet thrown over her in Tarp. A small Irish village is the setting for a day trip by bickering transsexuals in The Manshees of Inisherin. Whatever happened to all the Disney grandmothers? Find out in The Fabelnans. James Cameron reveals a long-awaited sequel, where an alien race discover a new home in a Scottish river in Avatar: The Tay Of Water. All soldiers just decide to stop fighting and play cards for the remainder of World War I in All Quit On The Western Front. Ladies who have been sexually abused strap on their strapons and take some revenge in Women Tasking. Hit movie adaptation of the story of the UK 2022 and the three hapless British Prime Ministers in Triangle Of Madness.

And another. Jimmie Walker correctly listed here: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_W.html#walkji but also listed as Jimmy Walker here: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_W.html#walkerj023 Both the same comic actor, both listed as uniques and therefore needs changing.

Earl of Elgin's elder sister, Lady Martha Bruce, former governor of Cornton Vale and Greenock prisons, reported dead aged 101: https://peeragenews.blogspot.com/2023/01/the-lady-martha-veronica-bruce-obe-1921.html Wiki (mention): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bruce,_10th_Earl_of_Elgin The Earl still has a living older sister! And some younger siblings.

I wondered why he was getting messages of condolence from Conservative MPs. Now OH has been smoked. No loss to the world.

And again for Queen Sirikit of Thailand, correctly here: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_S.html#sirikq but incorrectly credited as Queen Sikrit and as a unique here: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_S.html#sikiriqx19

There's another double entry for Julieta Serrano - correctly as https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_S.html#serraj But also here for some reason not as above but as Julietta Serrano https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_S.html#serranj023 Both are the same person but shown as uniques for both teams, so this needs tidying.
-
Pat Priest is listed correctly for two teams under Pat Priest: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_P.html#priesp but incorrectly also listed under Pat Preist as a unique for Syndication Zombies: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_P.html#preistp023 So another merge required @gcreptile.
