Breathtaking arrant nonsense from war mongering Boris. Lectures Russia on breaches of international law should they move on Ukraine, less than a couple of years ago he was promoting an internal markets bill which would break international law. I'm with Tobias Ellwood who warned that that historical attempt to break international law would weaken the voice of the British Government in making such statements - and he was and is right. Indeed, Truss and Johnson standing aside while a NI Executive Minister unilaterally declared the suspension of EU checks leading to the UK being in prospective breach of international law is also an example of this shite. But hey, let's move on - give the toddler who burned down your house the keys to the Fire Station, everything's fine.

Not sure how reliable the report is but Abune Antonios is reported dead here: https://erena.org/patriarch-of-the-eritrean-orthodox-church-abune-anotnios-passes-away/ If established, he is going to be a hit. A non-QO hit, but a hit nevertheless. Prove me wrong.

Interesting one, at least I found it interesting. Harvy Blanks, an actor who appeared in several productions of August Wilson plays making it to Broadway in 2017 as Shealy in the play Jitney and also had some TV roles is being reported dead: IBDB: https://www.ibdb.com/broadway-cast-staff/harvy-blanks-406762 What was interesting to me is that in 1969, he was one of some players on the University of Washington Husky football team who were thrown off the team by the coach Jim Owens in what can probably be described as blatant racism. Owens had asked for a pledge of personal loyalty and when he didn't get it from the black players he essentially got rid of them. At some point a player's picture was removed from the wall and replaced with a picture of an African with a bone through his nose. Some players were reinstated, Blanks wasn't - possibly because he was sidelined anyway with a broken foot. All the players thrown out, including Blanks, were inducted into the Husky Hall of Fame only in 2021. No age on his IMDB/IBDB profiles, but Clustrmaps indicates there was a Harvy Blanks resident in Denver, aged 73.

On Steve Barclay being appointed Chief Of Staff at Number 10. Government: A Minister who is democratically accountable to this House and to the people of the country. A good appointment. Reality: First, he doesn't bother to turn up for an urgent question to be accountable. Second, simply a human shield for the PM - you know that the PM is the one accountable for government and Number 10, why do we need another one equally accountable? -
Dundonian comic book artist Ian Kennedy aged 89 being widely reported dead on the Tweetpinboard: From The Wizard, Buster, Dan Dare to 2000 AD and Commando. RIP.

Of course he's not a clown. Clowns are laughed at, they don't laugh in your face.

Shameless, when over 180,000 British citizens didn't "survive". Also, I don't remember Labour being elected? Highest tax burden since Attlee, energy crisis worthy of Heath, inflation (real rate probably nearer 8% and rising) rampant and set to rise and interest rates on the up. (Have to say though any millenial who thinks 0.5% interest rate is extortionate is having a laugh, I remember those happy days of double figure interest rates - I'd say it needs to be at least 4% by year's end to stop inflation getting out of control). After 10 years of austerity. Also, had to laugh at the "Shared Prosperity Fund" allocations last week by Gove. "There are real pockets of deprivation in parts of England". So areas which never qualified for EU funding are now getting it. In some of the richest parts of the UK. All because Tory Councils refuse to fund services to keep their Council Tax down - so essentially it's a Council Tax and electoral subsidy for the Conservatives. Of course, try telling any of this to obese and toothless, the heavily made up WI ladies et al who say we need someone like the current incumbent to lead us through the important crises to come. Many of whom are about to get royally shafted.
