Still, your best performance to date. I was sure Chaudhri wouldn't obit, but she did. But James Michael Tyler and Dilip Kumar on the subs bench? Just so near, everything seemed to just hold you back, with that deck it could have been a massive score. You have shown yourself to be a threat in the future, putting yourself well among the big hitters - and hey you did win a heck of a lot of pools last year.

Captain Chorizo wins Deathlist Poker Tournament V and can be added to the HoF.

The bell hath tolled twelve. And so ends another six months of Casino enjoyment. Early on in the game it did look very much like the rookies were taking over the asylum, especially Baby Blue who was having an extraordinary start, only to throw his team solidly into reverse gear. And then the usual suspects began clambering towards the top of the list, this time joined by a perennial player who interloped into a podium position, but more of that later. As folk trundle off towards the stadia of the Deathlist Cup and wallow in the warm glow of their early DDP hits, it falls to me to wipe down the tables and the staff for another year. The final table follows, with entrants from the 2020 competition's position and points shown in brackets after your total for this year. The record points total of 2000 still remains unbreached: 1st: Captain Chorizo - 1594 Points (=12th; 808) 2nd: gcreptile - 1521 Points (9th; 958) 3rd: Perhaps - 1486 Points (1st; 1408) 4th: Death Impends - 1350 Points (3rd; 1244) 5th: An Fear Beag - 1062 Points (5th; 1240) 6th: theoldlady - 1034 Points (14th; 803) 7th: Grim Up North - 1018 Points (6th; 1086) 8th: msc - 1012 Points (7th; 996) 9th: Salmon Mousse - 996 Points 10th: Joey Russ - 960 Points (4th; 1241) 11th: Banana - 939 Points (=12th; 808) 12th: Caleb H - 787 Points (24th; 180) 13th: Baby Blue - 779 Points 14th: Sean - 754 Points (2nd; 1359) 15th: Bibliogryphon -711 Points (19th; 516) 16th: JoeMoneypenny - 685 Points (21st; 498) 17th: Yorkshire Banker - 554 Points (17th; 620) 18th: Great Uncle Bulgaria - 461 Points (20th; 512) 19th: Torva Messor - 453 Points 20th: Toast - 358 Points (23rd; 364) 21st: DeathByArsenic - 352 Points (11th; 809) 22nd: YoungWillz - 351 Points (10th; 872) 23rd: GuyFromFuture - 275 Points (26th; 48) 24th: Gooseberry Crumble - 160 Points (25th; 158) So we congratulate our victor and second time champion Captain Chorizo! Let joy be unconfined! Podium being filled out by gcreptile and last year's champ Perhaps. Special mentions thrown out to theoldlady who has seemingly got the hang of this and consistently improved her position year on year, and to Bibliogryphon who, by sticking with some old favourites saw many of them fall! Our Hall of Fame now reads as follows: 2017 - Death Impends 2018 - Death Impends 2019 - Captain Chorizo 2020 - Perhaps 2021 - Captain Chorizo And now to the Hall of Shame prize. This goes normally to the player who has essentially cut their own throat from winning the competition, either through non-obiting picks or just unfortunate play. I have come to the conclusion that this must, this year, go to gcreptile. There is no doubt that a brave couple of picks who simply didn't obit anywhere (including a Joker pick) cost gcreptile the championship, but also the early conversion of a Joker might have been a shrewd move - but as it turned out, maybe waiting a bit might have gained those Full Houses which never came to pass. Extraordinarily, as gcreptile DID achieve a podium place, I am willing not to place his portrait in the gents, but rather hang it above the entrance to the Players' Room as a reminder that sometimes patience and picking nailed on obiting picks may achieve more. Hall of Shame 2017 - Joey Russ 2018 - Joey Russ 2019 - Sir Creep 2020 - Guy From Future & msc 2021 - gcreptile I'd like to extend my thanks to all players past and present for indulging in this game, and hope you've enjoyed it. Let us see where we are come June and maybe, just maybe, I can sit in that comfy manager's chair once again.

Jesse Daniels, singer with Force MDs who hit #23 in the UK chart with Tender Love in May 1986, reported dead aged 57: https://www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/1545221/Jessie-Lee-Daniels-dead-death-Force-MDs-singer-news-latest-update As a result, that makes my first miss for my TOTP team this year. Out of the blue, I found nothing in research.

Just a reminder - this game will formally close by close of today. Last chance for you to hunt down those elusive QO's.

Wait. Did I just see Boris tell the British public that Omicron was milder and less likely to lead to hospitalisations, only for Sir Chris Whitty to totally contradict him when telling how many hospitalisations there were? Also, not a fucking solitary word from the PM for the families and friends of those who have died with COVID over the past weeks. He's such a cunt.

Maybe we could use this thread for all your Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Sri Lankan needs? If foreign personalities isn't good enough? Perhaps I'm just weary of Political Frailty being a dumping ground for all Canadians, Danes and others who have their own thread...

Didn't someone open a thread for the Indian subcontinent?

Dieter Bohlen was my "he's going to be unique, his strops indicate perhaps mental health issues, type to top himself in a Diva-ish fashion or perhaps accidentally overdose on sleeping pills" pick. Health isn't always physical. That said, I doubt he'll die and nobody will be more surprised than me if he does.

I'll be intrigued to see your team. Yeah, I mainly avoided #1 UK hits this year. The sickest/illest/tour cancelling lot were in the lower echelons of the 1986 Top 30.
