David Dukas, South African actor who appeared as Elias Griffin Junior in Rosa for Doctor Who, reportedly dead: (First death from the Jodie Whittaker era?)

Gives me an opportunity to watch it again. Which I do at least once a month. I have sung it at Karaoke in the Swedish. I shall also do that.

Paul Johnson, Chicago based DJ and producer who had a #5 hit in the UK in September 1999 with Get Get Down, hospitalised and being intubated. Various reports had him dead hours ago, but this is apparently untrue, but sounds very serious.
-
I'd argue that in the UK he's hardly known for anything. Carry On Wayward Son has become a bit of a cult classic in the UK due to being included in most if not all of the sing-a-long/karaoke type video games. However, ask a member of the general public here for a list of Kansas UK hits, that's it, even if they do know who Kansas were in the first place. However, he's truly dust in the wind...

Wait, headlines are all very confusing, it's somebody else who fell out with Chiwenga. Gah, Africans I'll leave to drol and gcreptile. -

Is Constatino Chiwenga dead? Or am I missing something? -
Maybe it's dementia, he should have realised that about 30 years ago!
-
Played on their only UK Chart hit Carry On Wayward Son, which reached #51 in July 1978.

Thanks all. I wonder if there are any more general 617 Squadron members with a Wiki page still alive?

William F Nolan seems to have died back on 15th July according to this: http://file770.com/william-f-nolan-1928-2021/ IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0634368/ I'm going to guess he's a DDP pick? Edit: Nope, he's not and doesn't ever appear to have been a pick! George Clayton Johnson died in 2015.

Cross-posting Lawrence Goodman's death report here - reportedly the last surviving pilot of 617 Squadron (but I'm scared because of the whole Tuskegee survivors/Spanish Civil War threads!). According to this, he died 18th July: https://dambustersblog.com/2021/07/18/sqn-ldr-benny-goodman/

Not sure how Lawrence "Benny" Goodman fits in here, but "Dambusters" is all over his Wiki. I'm guessing because he was in 617 Squadron. Anyway, he's being reported dead: https://www.key.aero/article/dambuster-lawrence-benny-goodman-dies

Mary Ward has finally been released from the prison of being one of the oldest living actresses. A hit for Caleb H and for Yorkshire Banker, the latter now joining the leaderboard. No bonuses, leaderboard updated.

John Woodcock doesn't make his century as his Times Obit testifies: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/times-cricket-writer-john-woodcock-dies-aged-94-mxjgt6t5p -
Felicity Kendal and Robert Lindsay starring in a stage production of Anything Goes (pics): https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-9710343/Felicity-Kendal-74-displays-impressive-flexibility-rehearsals-London-show.html Now I've done that show, and I am guessing they are not playing the young leads - because if they are, I want the cast list of the other characters who should be nearing their nineties! Amazing how really truly rough they look, compared with the mocked up picture promoting the show. That says nothing about their health, but Flic in particular I personally think looks older than her age.

Thanks! Good old Tom...

I should maybe add that Tom O'Connor was a panto star and appeared on Celebrity Squares. Can't find the man on morris dancing. Should help my rather lowly score.

Poor old Tom O'Connor dead as reported on the Dead of 2021 thread: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-57879765 I went for an audition for Crosswits - my first attempt at a game show. Though I didn't get on, the production company sent me for another game show Chain Letters with the great Jeremy Beadle - which I won. This close to meeting Tom though never did.

Tom O'Connor becomes the second of my Tom Tom Club team to die: https://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/breaking-tom-oconnor-dead-legendary-24560231 Edit: I think this is the first time I've ever had two hits in the same year on this game. Theme teams sometimes rock!
