My gawd, don't think I know many of the actors in that: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118200/ Go wild, go esoteric, go something with a Wiki reference to make it easier.

Obituary for English playwright, screenwriter and actor Charles Dyer: https://www.thestage.co.uk/obituaries--archive/obituaries/charles-dyer Appeared in The Knack (Photo Booth Man) and Richard Lester's How I Won The War and also alongside Hugh Lloyd and Terry Scott in several episodes of the sitcom Hugh And I. His play about a gay couple owning a barber shop in London's East End, Staircase, was adapted by him into a film of the same name with Richard Burton and Rex Harrison, which might not have been their best work. Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
YoungWillz replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
A brief foray into this thread. Well, as brief as I can make it! Interesting that the main coverage nationally (UK) is centred on SNP independence position. I mean, they do know that's the basis for existence of the party, right? However, this is going to be interesting probably for the effect that yaw yaw Bawjaws, and the lockdown has had on folk. Let's be clear - most of the folk I know, while accepting the rules on lockdown, have absolutely hated every minute of it and Sturgeon has been the face of that, like it or not. The farmers have been through a fiasco of funding. Folk have become more selfish, despite gains in education and narrowing the attainment gap, it's easy for others to point out it may not be working for some, and folk will go "yeah what aboot my wain". And there's the Glasgow hospital problems and deaths. There's plenty to criticise (but also welcome) and this may be why SNP support is on the decline. So, to the contenders. Labour's position seems to be a five year plan for recovery from the pandemic. Really, you are going to need 5 years? Ok, but Labour have only published a costed plan for the first year of their proposed administration - not 5 years. C'est incredible! And their spending plans already look shaky - going to do what they always do, take something away from the poor to give them jam on something else. Tories - Douglas Ross is obviously all for job creation - giving himself a fourth job on top of the three he already has, and isn't giving up his Parliamentary seat. That's all we need to see, the self interest of the wealthy. I've tried to work out what they actually stand for, but I know they are against independence, against Labour coming second, even seeming to suggest if Bawjaws has broken the Min Code he should resign. Yeah, Ruth Davidson soon changed her tune on the PM once she got elected last time, won't be any different this time. And Brexit has sold out the fishermen and the fishing industry has lost billions since January alone. Greens. Their all out attack on the oil and gas industries won't win them much in the north east, but their universal basic income and changes to Council Tax might win them friends elsewhere. Their support for Indy won't impact on folks' list votes. LibDems - Willie Rennie's answer to every question he has been posed is we have to invest more in mental health. His party are no longer a rejoin Europe party, yet he keeps saying that his position is to persuade people to rejoin. You don't need to persuade the folk of Scotland, who already voted to stay in the EU, so what's to persuade? A once proud tradition of representation in Scotland, this party has died on its arse under his leadership and since Clegg sold a pass to Cameron in 2010. Alba. Who knows? Sounds like it could be fireworks if Salmond returned to the fray, but would they really just undermine the SNP on everything but indy? A blank page to be written. Others - won't do anything. There's more to love than boy meets girl, and there's more to the ScoParl elections than Indy. -
I have no personal interest, just a bit surprised lol. Her dob will have to be changed to 1925, and died 29 April I believe, bit fiddly I'd imagine.

Updated for Maranne but not Billie Hayes?
-
Just Wagner and Cardinale from the OP left after Andre Maranne's reported death. Of course there are other films in the franchise, so a bit of life left here.

Is this Litsa Menounos? https://theblast.com/6488773/maria-menounos-mother-dies-after-long-covid-battle Article not mention by name, so guessing. Edit: Ah it is: https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/maria-menounos-mother-litsa-dies-203050311.html -

Well, imo, if the British press cannot honour the contribution of their own, it's crazy. Take Sutton, out of public life for donkeys, millionaire, no real contribution to the country. Murdered, full obit. Also, a lot of these seem to be determined on the personal likes of the journos - I mean, a Spanish comedian who happened to be a meme? Tiny local jazz exponents in some godforsaken backwater of the USA? Shock G for gawd's sake? I've given up caring. I'll freely admit to finding some folk interesting, while remaining astonished at some of those whose obits seem only to be clickbait.
-
Not really, it's just crazy when folk who have never had a UK hit get obits everywhere, people who have had UK Number Ones don't, bringing Yahoo back has given some simply amazing hits who wouldn't have previously. Not even all GB Olympians get a guaranteed one these days. With Tamara Press, I can only suggest...prurience?
-
Tamara Press would have obited: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/obituaries/2021/04/30/tamara-press-olympic-athletics-champion-whose-career-overshadowed/ That's the Press for you, never understand their reasoning for who and who doesn't obit....

For this thread yes. #45 with Leaving Here for 1 week in June 1965. Ulitzer's update should show that. I remember trying to research them when they popped up on the thread.

Got to love these comments on LibDem leaders from Lord Smith who couldn't even get elected to the House of Commons - what a prick he sounds:

British drag racing hall of famer (yes, I didn't know there was one) Dennis Priddle, reportedly dead: Tomorrow's World appearance:

Julia Van Hool, Belgium's oldest person (seemingly unvalidated, but certainly by popular acclaim) dead at 111: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2021/04/29/oudste-belg-julia-van-hool-111-overleden/

Obits for Maureen Coverdale who performed as Yvonne Michel, one half of the speciality dance act Yvonne Michel and Erik, who performed here and across the USA: https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/news/people/farewell-to-maureen-who-featured-alongside-legends-3191930 and https://www.thestage.co.uk/obituaries--archive/obituaries/yvonne-michel Eric died in 2012. IMDB probably needs notified they are both dead.
