Fascinating. First, the Supreme Court might just be the saviour of the Union. If it had supported Johnson's position and overruled the Scottish Courts, the disaffection in Scotland would be huge. Second, it is interesting that those most vociferously pro-Brexit, who have been talking about how great this Kingdom is and how wonderful it will be to have our laws made here and decided upon in our courts alone, are now complaining that the highest Court in the land has made a decision on the law and how outrageous it is. I mean it's not as if Johnson can appeal it to the European Court of Justice! Johnson says he accepts the decision when he clearly doesn't. However avuncular he currently appears, he has a very, very long meeting with Her Majesty in prospect which effectively is most likely to end his current premiership. His intent to re-prorogue may be difficult when he asks for it, given what has gone before.

Cheers, most of it is late 70s/early 80s stuff. Brother's accident was in 1988, so I'm guessing one of his mates went to the Van Halen Tour in 1993 and bought it for him. Probably the latest thing he owned, music wise. My younger brother took his vinyl years ago.
-
Obviously I am aware of the Van Halen health issues, and perhaps I would have baptised them as soft rock. But that is not what brings me to this thread. My late brother has left a 1993 World Tour Van Halen scarf, discovered in a box in the attic. Thinking of auctioning it off with his programmes for Kiss, Scorpions, Uriah Heep, Live Aid (only member of the family to go), Ozzy Osbourne etc etc. But maybe I should hold on to them and wait until a few more of the performers are dead - not sure I'll have long to wait!

Alas. I now have other more pressing issues. Welcome back when you feel up to it, Deathers.

Flagging this one up, simply because I don't know. There's a death notice for a Doreen James (92): http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/236121/james I have no idea how old the costume designer Doreen James was, who worked on significant Who stories, as well as many other TV shows. Toby doesn't seem to have mentioned it. Could it be the same person?
