Paul Holmes, also ex-Torquay United, reportedly dead: https://torquayunited.com/united-mourn-the-passing-of-paul-holmes/ Not picked in the DDP.

Kim Ki-nam was a Commie though. Many Commie regimes have come and gone, so the question is do you have to die a Commie to be in this thread? Vietnam as I understand it has moved somewhat from its pure Commie philosophy, for example. Some folk may have been members of Communist parties across the world, even leaders, only to move away from pure Communism or even become - lawd - Socialists. I defer of course to those who know better.
-
I did do a search for Kim Ki-nam and results came there none, probably due to the shortness of the individual parts of his name. Apologies to @drol I see the post now in Jong-un's thread. Nevertheless, I prefer this little thread for Communists. Don't get them terribly often these days! Or maybe we do, but they are submerged into politicians or other threads.

Kim Ki-nam, former Vice-President of the Workers' Party of Korea and North Korean official, reportedly dead aged 94 (Wiki has him aged 89 though):

Judy Hashman (nee Devlin), very successful badminton player, reportedly dead: https://www.allenglandbadminton.com/judy-hashman-obituary/ Apparently a former Desert Island Discs castaway.

Not really imo. There's been quite a few on the BBC but in Pidgin or Arabic, which do not count. Best bet might be The Times, but that might be a wait.
-
Olly's performance at the semi final - very very poor. A triumph of backing dancers and staging over singer and song. Dreadful as predicted.

Up to the Committee, but as I recall the article has to be in English, n'est ce pas? @time

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
YoungWillz replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Putin would be proud. Don't like judges? Pass legislation to disregard them. Don't like the way people vote? Insist on ID and ban those who disagree with you from voting. Feel you have a god given right to rule? Well, what's the point of elections anyway? Meanwhile farming out control of your defence forces' payroll to a third party and I assume a private company and leaving it open to hacking by China? If they were trying to pass an exam at a state school, they would fail. Of course, at Eton and Harrow and Rugby etc etc, they have always passed, despite their dismal record. Eejits. -
Ian Gelder, who played Kevan Lannister in GoT, reportedly dead: There's the obligatory Torchwood and Doctor Who appearances, alongside Eastenders, The Bill, Absolutely Fabulous and Poirot (The Underdog). IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0312245/

Stunt performer/co-ordinator and actress Denise Ryan aka Denise Edwards reportedly dead: Film work includes Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom and Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves. TV work on Grange Hill, Super Gran, Silent Witness and Taggart.

As an aside, Mike Nolan of Bucks Fizz (now The Fizz) is leaving the group. I see he expressed the whole travelling to gigs stuff getting him down, but also "personal reasons". Well, they are cracking on, time for him to "slow it down".

Add Kristin Hallenga as above.
-
Don't recall if she was the longest continuously picked non-royal "celeb" on the DDP. In a fight to the death with Richard O'Sullivan?
-
Kris Hallenga finally dead: https://coppafeel.org/ DDP pick I think.

Probably the place to post this. Thought I'd have a wee look at IMDB for Boys From The Blackstuff. Incredibly incomplete. Just a couple of names instantly pop up. Mike Hayden played the Priest who asks Yosser to call him Dan. Died in 2004. https://www.thefreelibrary.com/OBITUARY+-+Michael+Hayden.-a0113762573 Peter Kerrigan was a well known actor back in the day who I was sure was dead. This link says he died in 1999. http://www.thefootballvoice.com/2023/07/a-history-of-liverpool-thespians-peter.html

This Richard Lester? https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/richard-lester-obituary?id=53338929 Incredibly, this does seem to be this guy https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3233652/ same reference to Blue Heron Productions, but the dates of birth and death are all different. Typical.

Gizza job! Played Lennon in something I think. Sad news. The Blackstuff Boys becoming the black snuff boys.
