Hazel Grove folks surely don't need another bloody school governor? Who knows, with the past two incumbents being a sell out LibDem (now dead) and one who continues to draw a salary while technically not representing the party the Hazel Grove folks voted for (regardless of his voting record). Gawd-fucking-awful representation.
-
Ah well, interesting to see what occurs in that seat. Tory generally, maybe the LibDems stand a chance of taking it? What will be unearthed on the next MP for the area, we can but see.
-
Surely having the Whip removed is the party disowning? Mind you, the Tories are good at victimising "victims" if that is what Wragg is. I have a passing interest nothing more in the parcel of rogues that sit in Westminster
-
Aside: Hazel Grove now represented by that pillar of the community William Wragg, Tory currently disowned by his party. Not a lot of luck, the good (normally Tory) people of Hazel Grove.

Andrew Stunell, Baron Stunell, former LibDem MP for Hazel Grove (1997-2015), part of the team that sold out the LibDem principles for coalition with the Tories in 2010 and power for its own sake, reportedly dead: https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/a-dedicated-public-servant-former-29087800

Workers Party? Son of an architect and real estate developer. Mental health issues. Claims to be a follower of Sikhism and was caught drinking alcohol. International cricketer. That Monty Panesar? Yeah, you would think with that history he'd be a Tory. -

Police say not to share footage or speculate on Social Media. So of course, Paul Golding of Britain First has already done so. That's quite the sword.

Gone all out there to win, Book! Good luck!

Well, according to what you outlined for Wiki, Nilsen lived in London and Tobin roamed the UK, so of course they are British.
-
Very interesting. I give you Terry Pratchett - English. Afaik, born in England, died in England, author and journalist in England. But not British.

I didn't find a thing on here about Sansom - Kenny, loads, CJ nothing! I wonder about the English/Scottish thing. There's probably a shitload of Wiki pages which describe people as English, not British. I definitely see that where sportspeople, particularly golfers, describe them that way which I understand because of the representation of country. What I don't understand is writers, musicians etc etc described as English. The English can be just as rabid about their nationalism - look at the recent St Georges Day nonsense, the Emily Thornberry flag nonsense from a few years ago. And let's not forget all the garbage spouted about immigration. Ah, well, an interesting side note.
-
I'm not. I support Home Rule for Scotland - doesn't make me a nationalist. I think Westminster isn't the best place for decisions to be made about Scotland - doesn't make me a nationalist. Most politicians are arseholes, including for example my former local SNP MP. I'm actually a Lib Dem at heart but probably more in the old Liberal party mould. The day they threw away their flagship policy to get into bed with Cameron and the Tories is when I lost faith in them. I used to be proud to put British on my census returns - I don't now. Plus - I was just following the Wiki description - given Sansom was vociferously anti-independence, I can see why he would describe himself as British.
