Huzzah for Bibliogryphon for continuing to run this again.

But you have taken the lead. Again. Albeit with 10 months to go.

Confirmed. An omen that Lafaye never made it out of the dressing room?

Vanessa Lafaye writes not so much a book but a short story of points for two teams.

Now Vanessa Lafaye died yesterday morning. Brian Deane? https://www.thebookseller.com/news/vanessa-lafaye-dies-aged-54-742986

Looks like it is also time to pop my picks into my signature. Which I shall now commence to do....
-
That'll be the gentleman that will bury my team, I'm guessing, ha ha. Best of luck CC.

I'm hoping that travelling away to your ground, Captain, some of my team may get car sick at the very least! Who on earth is JW Leonard? I'm a bit tired, if this is blindingly obvious...

Well, bad luck to the engineer, thanks for a tough month! An honourable draw sir, and if I get you next year, I'll throw the match. Now I go on to face who I believe was my nemesis in the first round last year. Chorizo rematch *sigh sigh*

Looks like me and the engineer are the ones on the coin toss. Kinda expected. See ya on the flip side....
-
Kind of concerned that there is more than a whiff of strangeness that cancer patients are going out of their way to dupe deadpoolers....

FINAL MOMENTS: From Thistle Wanderers United's Ground: There's snow on the pitch, hampering the players from scoring, just as they have done all game. It's been end to end, but not the end for any player on any team. Will hypothermia finish anyone off in the dying seconds? Will the ref survive a dangerous coin toss through the air? Can either manager actually be bothered going through another whole month of this?

One less. The actual Baroness Muriel Turner has reportedly died: https://humanism.org.uk/2018/02/28/humanists-uk-mourns-baroness-turner/

Trying not to derail the thread again, but I was only putting forward my experience. What really is ludicrous is making the teaching of metric compulsory for everyone, and then sending them out into a world where people drive in mph, measure in feet and inches and weigh in pounds and ounces. Thus recessing the progress the scheme was undoubtedly intended to make. Who really wants to divide up things into twelfths and fourteenths...it's more difficult. Obviously charon speaks for the seafaring community re the nautical issue. I was never taught it, so I find it unfathomable.

Biggest fool I ever met was from Swindon. Shudder if I hear someone is from there. -

Well, it's widely reported everywhere now...except the good old UK! Come along, media.... -
Nope, not for me, height in cm, generally.

Well, I can only speak for Scotland, and I started primary in 1970/71. Never taught imperial.
