Report of the death of Gloria DeHaven here: https://twitter.com/fantle/status/759784039033307136 Two points - yes, her daughter was/is married to a Finkelstein and DeHaven has just had a birthday. So who knows? Might be a hoax, but it may very well be true. Let's wait and see.

Joni Mitchell is part of the silent generation and not the baby boomers. I and others have her birth in 1943 MK. And I have 60 names, and you only have 40 at present..so GIUY. Why didn't you take issue with Shaun's list or indeed The Unknown Man who posted before me?

Just while passing through the DDP, I see Ken McHugh was a pick for one team, but he died in December 2015. His Bio hasn't been updated, so just drawing this to TMIB's attention. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3369832/Terminally-ill-father-fulfilled-dying-wish-walking-four-children-aisle-loses-battle-cancer-just-two-months-wedding-days.html

] She doesn't need too. Why do you care so much if she goes to Glasgow or not also lets not forget that ridiculous claim that she did so because she hates Scottish people. I don't understand how you process information MK. First you state I hate Malala, when quite clearly I just think she's overrated. Now you declaim that I say she cancelled because she hates Scottish people. I have not said or suggested that. I have stated however that she has shown utter contempt for her "adoring public" in Scotland by cancelling without giving any good reason whatsoever for it. That kind of behaviour is not acceptable from people in the public eye. Now cease and desist putting words in my mouth. This is not a work of interpretation, this is a work of what is on the page. Oh and btw, don't try and correct my spelling, you got that wrong too. oh I see don't play word games with me. Treating people with contempt implies hatred also she could have had a good reason like for example she might be dealing with constipation. Well, it's her duty to tell us about her bowel movements...that's what the public demands from a Nobel Prize winner.

Here's an update on Sakamoto and how shaken he was by Bowie's death: http://www.japantoday.com/category/arts-culture/view/composer-sakamoto-dreams-of-a-masterpiece-before-i-die Notwithstanding, I've already noted he had a top 30 UK hit with David Sylvian in 1982, so he might get squeezed into my theme team in around 18 months. -

What surprises me is that she has a fandom at all. She's done absolutely nothing to gain one.

So anyway.... I thought I'd do a round up of those mentioned in this thread who continue to defy our readers' disbelief and continue breathing. Wiki/IMDB so usual disclaimers. I've listed those in the thread up to the end of 2015, a lot of whom are regularly discussed, but some you may have forgotten posting about. Listed by initial of first name where I can. Couple of question marks against those I'm suspicious of or have glossed over. I'm sure that's the reason she canceled her gig. It literally couldn't be anything else. Ffs wily stop looking for reasons to hate people. Said she was overrated, not hated, MK. I'd really like to know what her scheduling conflict was...perhaps a better paying gig, something more high profile, a party, time of the month? I'll tell you what it isn't, though...a trip back home to speak to those young girls she's always banging on about. Oh no, it won't be that. If she goes back there they'll kill her also her point is to encourage opprsed people to leave and never go back. Have a better life somewhere else. Tell me how she does that, exactly? She's not talking to them directly and they aren't going to read about it because allegedly they're not receiving any education. She won't even travel to Glasgow...and hasn't given a decent explanation for it.

A week to go. If I'm brutally honest, I'll only really be bothering with the cycling, gymnastics, wrestling and weightlifting. I'll probably pay more attention in the event of an epidemic of illness or terrorist attack.

A guy came up to me in the street and tried to sell me some previously unheard and unreleased Culture Club tunes. I politely declined and turned away. But then I thought 'Why not?' but when I turned back I saw the fellow simply melt away into the background. Looking back I think he was probably a scammer chameleon.

Edit: Question is how does Australia know, when she was apparently living in Shoreham in Sussex? I dunno....

A most excellent suggestion. Glass, Reich, Part and Boulez are all doing well at the moment, but there are others of similar vintage; We all know about Elliott Carter, who made a sprightly century last December, but Henri Dutilleux is 93 John Gardner is 92 Gyorgy Kurtag is 83 Hans Werner Henze is 82, as is John Joubert Einojuhani Rautavaara is 81 Peter Sculthorpe is 80 All, save for Gardner, are still working. There are others, but It'd just get boring However, MiB, Carl Andre - he of the bricks - is a mere 73 Rautavaara dead at 87: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-3712368/Finnish-composer-Einojuhani-Rautavaara-dead-age-87.html -
