Dead. Properly big name in the field, so my wife tells me, though she thought he'd died years ago. Oops, forgot a link, here's one: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/renowned-polish-born-sociologist-zygmunt-bauman-dies-at-home-in-england-at-age-91-associate-in-warsaw-says/2017/01/09/ec18f446-d68d-11e6-a0e6-d502d6751bc8_story.html?utm_term=.86260206ba01

Oi! You been reading my Hare's Pool entry? Ha ha! I never really bothered reading other people's entries when I ran the thing (just ctrl + f'd when someone vaguely notable died to see if they were picked), I'm hardly going to start now am I! Was just thinking about Animal Park as due to all the repeats couldn't work out when it officially finished airing! Just picked him this year as I was reading about something and his name cropped up. Thought I'd get a unique on the game with him.

I do but having succumbed to a mini-rant which I chose not to continue for the sake of sanity of the forum, I'll step aside.

Ah, good. Thanks for running it again Vaagheid, much appreciated. Now, let's see how the lists compare in actual deaths. Well done Book, you obviously know the Committee better than most.
-
I'll be last and thanks for the clarification Vaagheid, I did the same with the Hare's Pool. I still like my chances of a top ten finish though...
-
Well that, and it could be edited after the list appeared. Not I'm saying it has mind...
-
Despite predicting 27 names correctly, I'm sure I'll probably be way down. I'd say my list was more deathlisty than the real deal this year.

Peter Sarstedt is a hit here.

Rita Chakravarti seems pretty damn sure on the BBC News Channel.

Quite. Almost requiring a leaderboard already at this rate.

I imagine that even with a bit of creative accounting, he has probably paid more in tax than you and I would earn in two lifetimes. Possibly, but proportionally to income, I'd say no. It's not Communist Russia quite yet. Maybe some of our pensioners could listen to him on the radio in their cold houses while waiting on their 5 minute personal care detail.... We are all better off if we all play by the rules, all I'm saying. And the rules have been awful on tax for years and haven't come close to being fixed yet. Gosh, I sound like quite a lefty!
