Does he ever take that jacket and medals off..?

    Scavenger Hunt Bingo Deadpool III

Jeremy Bulloch a unique hit for @Toast in here! And yet another person moves one away, this time in the James Bond category - will the game last to Christmas..?

    Scavenger Hunt Bingo Deadpool III

That would be a first for the SHBDP surely?! Failing to qualify on obit grounds? (Unlikely anyway since he's a Nobel Prize winner!)

    Scavenger Hunt Bingo Deadpool III

As per @Ulitzer95, Nobel Laureate Jack Steinberger becomes Hit #12 already. I thought given the category it might get us close to a conclusion, but while a hit for 4 players, 3 of them had already scored with Arthur Ashkin in this category so they're all 3 Nobel Laureates away from victory instead! @Grim Up North moves 2 categories away from the finish - I think?!

Poor girl! Talk about being bloody typecast!

Thanks for earnestly keeping this up Banana, I was wondering if you had. So much action in the FIFA World Cup Players thread, and NO hits in the category! Another one gone today to be added. Since Nobby Stiles died on October 30th, there have been 12 deaths reported in the thread and, incredibly, the only hit was Maradona as a unique for Biblio! 6 of the deaths have been over 80, but to put in perspective, I think there were (roughly) more than 250 World Cup players over 80 left when Stiles died, so maybe we aren't that bad after all!

    Sir Frank Williams

Sir Frank Williams in a stable condition in hospital with unknown ailment. He'll be 79 next April. I'm no scientist, and I'm sure someone on here will be able to put me right, but surely he's done very well for a man who's been a tetraplegic for 34 years? This pdf from a study of life expectancy (including NHS sources) suggests (if I'm reading it right) that he's already comfortably beaten the average for his injuries (he was 44 when he was injured and has a fracture between his 4th and 5th vertebrae - right on the border for the two life expectancies!) The family sold the team this season due to funding issues but does that mean he doesn't see the point anymore? Edit: Beaten to the punch by @The Old Crem! That's what you get for trying to qualify your post!

    Julian Assange

He's got a month left yet, he's not finished pardoning. He's got his entire family to do yet for a start!

Course he'll pardon him. He was the best campaign manager Trump had.

    Queen Elizabeth II

That does sound very plausible: "One man's meat us another man's fish" but I just had a look and lots of sites online don't reference that. One even claims it goes back to antiquity and Rome. Is this one if those origins that sounds like it should be right but is in fact apocryphal perhaps? Either way, the credit still lies with you.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Just seen this, very sad news. Great and prolific author, even into very old age. I remember assuming he'd died years ago when I was younger and then discovered that not only was he still alive he was still writing! His last novel was only published last year. This year just isn't letting up at all.

    Dementia afflicted footballers

Yep, he was living with his daughter at the start of lockdown, but she's got two very young children and his condition has deteriorated during isolation and he became too much to handle alongside the kids so she had to move him into a home. She's said he hasn't handled it very well and she can't see him in person which he doesn't understand. There was an article in the Daily Telegraph a couple of weeks ago, online behind a paywall no doubt. Very sad, legend at my club.

    Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

So in the past few days, the Queen has become the 7th oldest ruling state leader in history (as per her thread) while the Duke has become the oldest living Duke ever. Bet they're partying hard.

    Bravo, that's art right there.

    By -Election Bingo 2019-2024

Just to highlight that this was Jo Cox's seat, Tracy Brabin was the one chosen to fill the seat after her death. She's impressed me, the bits I've seen of her, not that shadow junior ministers necessarily get that much exposure.

    Golf: The 19th Hole

His name literally translates as 'Whitehead' if my less than GCSE German can be trusted. As a history teacher who's done the Cold War in the past, try getting a classful of 16 year olds to spell it even remotely correctly.

    48. Tom Baker

I was just going to say the same thing. Just checked and he's 86 - I'm not surprised he's looking a bit thinner but I wouldn't expect him to go anytime soon based on his current activity.

    Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Just doing some scouting and even the BBC is picking up on the rumours around the Ayatollah's health and giving a heads up on what happens next when he dies. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-55257059 Surely there must be something going on, even if he's not immediately at death's door.

Deaths of The Silver Screen Deadpool II

Just to note that if Game 1 were still live, @Lord Fellatio Nelson would have gone from no hits to 2 hits in very quick time with the deaths of David Prowse and Barbara Windsor from Carry on Henry - just Leon Greene left! And a few months too late!

Cycling up next... (I don't deny there's a problem, it's just that this thread is going to be a free-for-all) https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/55199275

    Joe Biden

As the legal expert quoted by the Guardian in @En Passant's post above, if the Republicans are such martyrs to the federalist model of government, how on Earth can Texas challenge how Georgia or Michigan conducts their elections? Or is it just about staying in power? Surely not... Regarding Trump's chances of success, yesterday the Supreme Court didn't even bother to issue an opinion on his bid to stop the Pennsylvania results being certified. It was just denied in a one line ruling, so good luck with that. And since you're picky about your news source, take your pick: Here's the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-55243008 CNN: https://edition.cnn.com/2020/12/08/politics/supreme-court-pennsylvania-trump-biden/index.html Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/gdpr-consent/?next_url=https%3a%2f%2fwww.washingtonpost.com%2fpolitics%2fcourts_law%2fsupreme-court-trump-pennsylvania-election-results%2f2020%2f12%2f08%2f4d39e16c-397d-11eb-98c4-25dc9f4987e8_story.html NY Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/08/us/supreme-court-republican-challenge-pennsylvania-vote.html ABC: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-allies-turn-supreme-court-long-shot-bid/story?id=74604787 Fox: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/jonathan-turley-trump-supreme-court-pennsylvania-ruling Unfortunately, the Supreme Court itself didn't see fit to bother publishing the ruling on it's own website, although I may have missed it.

    Dementia afflicted footballers

For what it's worth, I'd much rather have a separate thread on dementia in football, a separate thread on dementia in rugby and a separate thread on dementia in American Football than the mindless threads currently popping up about who's going to die last. Why should worthwhile threads be tarred with the same brush as some of the inanity on here?

    Final Child

I thought the same thing but couldn't summon up the drive to care to point it out.
