As it so happens, two of my picks have died already (Gary Talbot and Thanos Mikroutsikos). But neither seem to have QO's so perhaps a blessing in disguise?
-
Just submitted my two teams, main and B team. It's going to be another really interesting year with lots of great picks. Good luck!

DDP: A big disappointment given my top 10 performance in my first year but considering I had been away for a year I wasn't really caught up with the latest news. C Alt Obits Deadpool: I'm within striking range from top if one of my under 50 picks goes between Christmas and New Year's Eve, but that seems very unlikely. Still I think I had several lucky hits (Dabwido especially), and looking back a good number were simply wasted picks. B Windy City: Looking back I realize my number 1 pick is not really the dead cert I was sure he was. D ABC: Well, I'm in the lead so what should I say? Aside from Tom Long (who pretty much everyone else went for) and Chiwenga (I'm now convinced he was lying to us the whole time) I think there is potential for each of my remaining picks. My three solos is something to be proud of (Of which one was pure luck but the other two were clearly on the way out). A Poker: I felt I had a decently strong team but is not doing well at the moment. Nevertheless I think many of my picks are low-hanging fruit that should be going in the next few months. C-

Entry submitted. Good luck everyone!

Niels Olsen, half of the 2000 winning team Olsen brothers, has brain cancer.

Just sent my list. I'm virtually certain several of my picks will be rejected and replaced so I don't really mind sending early. Good luck!

So just a clarification, is family of the famous acceptable? (Like Angie Douthit before she died)
-
Canadiens player Guy Lapointe, not to be confused with the aforementioned Guy Lafleur, has oral cancer.

Actually, on second thought, we may have to give the win to drol. According to this article Roy died at 12:30 a.m. Bangladesh time which is 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Kiefer's time zone. Kiefer's obituaries say he died "Sunday afternoon".

Congrats Reptile, well-played!

Seems like many are missing points for Juliette Kaplan.

A few more that haven't been mentioned so far (and no I'm not giving out any top secrets): Sam Lloyd, Alcee Hastings, Doug Supernaw, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Henry Gray: These folks need no introduction Yoo Sang-chul: Diagnosed with stage 4 pan-can and imo DDP QO is very likely but maybe not the most DL-y of names Judy Dyble: Just diagnosed with lung cancer but unless there is evidence it is early stage the prognosis is usually quite grim. Syed Ali Shah Geelani: Kashmiri separatist/terrorist/whatever-you-call-him who is 90 and has been in and out of hospital lately. Roger Scruton: Apparently a highly renowned writer and has cancer to the point of almost dying so seems pretty serious.

Looks like Jorge Vergara is a lucky hit for me.

So, How’s Your 2020 Shortlist Looking?
JiroemonKimura replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I've got a decent list of over 100 names, about 10-15 or so seemingly dead certs, mostly in 70s and 80s. Most of them are probably the usual Drop 40 canon names; though I do have a handful of unique hopefuls. Vast majority have cancer of some form. -
1. Genesis P-Orridge (Windy City, DDP) JOKER 2. Lee Kerslake (Windy City) 3. Alcee Hastings (Windy City) 4. Alex Trebek (Windy City)

Wow, poor lady, can't imagine having to suffer such a terrible cancer for 3 years. Rest in peace.
-
Kornel Morawiecki a hit for me. Jose Jose and Ricksen also major hits.
-
Alabama governor Kay Ivey diagnosed with lung cancer.

Rest in peace
