    The Dead of 2019

Ric Ocasek would have been 32 and Andy Summers 35 when they joined their most famous groups Similarly Leonard Cohen released his first album in 1967 aged 34 A more extreme example was the drummer Ed Cassidy, who was born in 1923 and was a founding member of the psychedelic rock band Spirit in 1967, so would have been 43-44 But the best example of an older rock musician finding success for the first time is Seasick Steve, not a shadow of a doubt about it

    The Dead of 2019

The Cars were a New Wave band, weren't they? And the New Wave movement was most active in the late 70s and early 80s Surprising then that he was born as early as 1944, definitely must have been one of the oldest members of that movement - same with the guitarist from the Police as well born in 1942 but best known for being in a New Wave group

    The 9th Death of 2019

Javier Perez de Cuellar is not biologically immortal

    The 8th Death of 2019

Javier Perez de Cuellar I've been picking him in these polls for years Unless he is biologically immortal I'm guaranteed to get a prediction right someday

    The 6th Death of 2019

I thought Johnny Clegg was already dead? I'm sure I saw an obituary for him somewhere? Why am I thinking this? But anyway, Javier Perez de Cuellar as always

    John McCririck

The young generation just coming out now (people born after the new millennium) won't even really remember classic British TV that much, all Netflix and Youtube now

    John McCririck

Looks similar to how John Wetton did in his final days. Not so much the clothing of course but his actual physical appearance and state of health

That isn't Curtis and Amy's relationship on Love Island that you're referring to there is it?

    John McCririck

I honestly thought he might last the rest of the year, but then again he did look really ill and had lost a lot of weight. Going by the way he looked I would guess he had some form of cancer. There definitely won't be another like him, that's for sure

    Mohamed Morsi

Wonder if Morsi will release a posthumous hit single called "First of the Brotherhood to Die"

The Next Piper At The Gates Of Heaven

Three of you beat me to it here. At least he got a chance to make a comeback in later life including touring and recording new material which was good. The way he was treated for smoking a little bit of pot was shocking

    The Dead of 2019

Doris Day, Pei and Wouk all gone this week, it's starting to pick up a bit now. No idea why I. M. Pei wasn't on the main DeathList.

    The 3rd Death of 2019

Just because we've lost Calamity Jane doesn't mean that Javier Perez de Cuellar has strayed far from my mind!

    Doris Day

Don't know about anyone else here, but I became familiar with her films and music in childhood and you never really forget them. A true legend for sure. RIP Calamity Jane

    The Dead of 2019

Agree with those who are saying it's been a really slow year this year so far. It will pick up later in the year though - it always does. Don't see this year's list getting much more than about 10 hits though to be honest

Former Grand Duke Jean Of Luxembourg

Yet another miss for the DeathList - the main list has had a royally shit performance so far this year if I might say so myself

    Robot Wars

Beat me to it. Truly a legend and a pioneer. Sad day. You would think given that he created Brum as well as appeared on Robot Wars, the BBC at least would give an obituary. There have only been unofficial reports so far.

Guys like David Icke and all the rest of the conspiracy nutters would be nowhere without him

Javier Perez de Cuellar so that I get one right eventually

    Shivakumara Swami

I don't understand why in situations like this, they don't just let the patient die a peaceful natural death

    1. Jimmy Carter

I am only having a laugh Obtaining Johnny Rotten's sperm and Katie Hopkins' piss might be an expensive endeavour anyway, not so much the Ryanair flight though

You can edit your own posts but you can't edit mine And, while we are on that subject, does that mean that the 1990s started in 1991? The 80s in 81? 70s in 71?
