Overweight, frumpy nurse to young blonde colleague: "You know that hunky young patient in Ward 5? I've just given him a bed-bath and he has the word TOTTIE tattooed on his willy!" Next day, young blonde nurse to overweight, frumpy colleague: "I've just given that hunky patient a bed-bath. His tattoo actually says TOTTENHAM TILL I DIE!"

That makes me wonder: would the Greek follow her in the grave soon, should she die first? I suppose she won't, but she might, say, get run over by a bus. Or would he marry again?

I love the paragraph at the top of page three, about making an initial response. "This... would usually take the form of an expression of sorrow." Usually? Under what circumstances would it be anything else?

Yup, he pretty much peaked with Right said Fred, and Hole in the Ground. I wonder if they'll get Bernard Cribbens to sing at the funeral. If he does, let's hope it's 'Right Said Fred'. The other one would be in bad taste...

He doesn't look ill, he just looks like his face is melting, and he's had that terrible affliction since he was born. Look at Bill Wyman, though! Isn't that Geldof? This was at Rupert Murdoch's wedding blessing, wasn't it? It was on the news last night and they mentioned Lloyd-Webber but when I looked up the picture changed and I didn't get a proper look.

Absolutely massive one for soap-land. Basically the father of soap. The man responsible for Ena Sharples, Elsie Tanner, Ken Barlow, Emily Bishop, Rita Knox and Annie Walker among hundreds, if not thousands, of other TV creations. I'm sure we can forgive him that! (Who's Rita Knox - you mean Littlewood/Fairclough/Sullivan surely?) You forgot Tanner... But the actress is Barbara Knox, which is where the confusion arose.

Web pages which appear to have finished loading, but just as you go to click on a link an advert opens at the top, which shoves everything down the screen and you end up clicking on the wrong thing!!!

Hi, folks! I've been hanging around the list for a while but thought I might as well sign up. What the hell, wasting another hour or so a day spending constructive time with like-minded people can't do any harm. Anyway, I live in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, I'm over 21 and still in possession of all my faculties - at least as long as I remember to wear the tin-foil lined hat.

I only joined today (though I've been following the List for months). Didn't realise spaces were allowed in my user name so can it be changed from TheHappyReaper to The Happy Reaper? (My brother is the grim one.)
