Sadly last night she passed away. She was in a coma for the last couple days so it's not very surprising (again). My dad is absolutely devastated. Rest in Peace GMA.

Didn't think of it at first, my only reaction was shocked and sad because they are one of my favorite newer metal bands. However, nothing remains now, or summat. (I probably blew my chance to make one now)

Evanescence also formed in 1995, but that would make Godsmack old even by those standards aswell *mind you, Amy and the rest were still extremely young when they started, like not even old enough to play in bars

Jesus, Godsmack ruled the nu metal/post grunge boom when Evanescence was also popular, and Evanescence members (at least Amy Lee) are only in late 30s. I didn't realise Godsmack were so old!

The funny thing is, all that weight was definitely packed on in the last 10 years. He had an interview with Neversoft in the video game Guitar Hero World Tour and he looked alright iirc (some Mororhead members and OzzyOsbourne, among others were interviewed too )
