Former president of Uruguay and global icon mainly due to his frugal lifestyle and critic of capitalism. Now suffering from esophageal cancer, severe autoimmune disease and kidney failure. At almost 89, this becomes quite a deadly cocktail.

Junko Hori, picked here and here in DPs, dead at 89. -
They are selected by nature to be the best of the best. A normal person who had to go through what Pinal or Dr. NakaMats have gone through would be dead ten times at least. 2024 is a tough class. The best performers IMHO were: 1)Chavalit Yongchaiyudh (1932): survived being recently in ICU with multiple health issues. And fresh denial by family within days. 2)Silvia Pinal (1931): survived first hospitalization in ICU; then hospitalised again in ICU, now on the mend yet again. 3)Shmuel Kamenetsky (1924): the guy survived a massive stroke at 99. He has been out and about for all November and actively campaigning for Trump. Incredible. 4)Jean Marie Le Pen (1928): surviving an illness that would have killed anyone else, probably. 5)Alexander Mitta (1933): survived massive stroke, kidney cancer, multiple organ failure at 90. Fresh denial by his family on his conditions! 6)Jayapataka (1948): well, he is Jayapataka. He is not even human.

Piedad Loriente Perez dead at 113. Only Felps left, and that's pretty impressive she is somehow still alive.

My mother died early this morning at 88, after a long long, too long battle with Alzheimer's disease and colon cancer. Her condition had drastically deteriorated in the last week.

As reported elsewhere, Nixon enemy Fred R. Harris has died.

Mayor of Belo Horizonte Fuad Noman (wiki) hospitalised, just a month after announcing he beat non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
-
Divaldo Franco, now 97, hospitalised and diagnosed with bladder cancer, but cancer is "at initial stage and very treatable" and he is "stable, conscious and expected to recover soon".

Mitta, Le Pen, Pinal, Enrile, Chavalit...

The Mighty Chavalit Yongchaiyudh was in hospital recently and rumoured to be in very serious condition. Anyway, exactly as you expect, here's the family denial with new photos of him playing with his great granddaughter.

I wouldn't say it's nothing. It's wishful thinking.
-
Wu Jinglian (wiki), Chinese top economist, back on national spotlight at 94. I'd put my money on him making 100 and beyond.
-
Silvia Pinal back in hospital with arrhytmia and low pressure. EDIT: stable and not in danger according to her family.
-
"We lost contact with Deif since that enormous explosion in the building he was four months ago, but we believe he is alive and well" Fucking clowns.
-
Pinto da Costa broke his femur and will undergo surgery, but there's no cause of concern.

According to Bardella, JMLP is fine and the latest news have been reassuring. On the mend yet again, it seems.
