People I knew who died in the last week: 25th: Elahi Bux Soomro (vaguely read the name, minor figure of Pakistan politics) 24th: Carl Andre (fairly significant), Herbert Coward (one-role actor, minor cult figure) 23rd: Frank Farian (significant yet not A-lister), Charles Fried (vaguely heard, minor) 22nd: Jagdish Gandhi (only because he was ill), Arno Penzias (B-lister even among Nobel Prizes), Gigi Riva (huge in Italy TBF) 21st: Roger Rogerson (mainly because of ill health). This day was completely deadbeat. 20th: Choe Thae-bok (big in NK), David Emge (again one-movie actor), Devaki Krishnan (only beacuse cranky old, very minor politician), Nathaniel Fiennes (only based on old age) 19th: Jack Burke (only for old age) 18th: Amnon Rubinstein (thanks to @arghton) Yes, it's been a very weak period.

Winfield Dunn was on my radar as he was diagnosed with a faulty valve in his 20s (just like yours truly) and did not get surgery until he was 84. I think he has now exceeded every expectation.

May be too early but Gianni Rivera has still not commented on Riva's death. Comments arrived from Zoff, Sacchi, Boninsegna, Fabio Capello and Marcello Lippi.

On LinkedIn. He is searching for a work as geezer. Nah, some local historian interviewed him about his WW2 experience some months ago.
-
Roger Rogerson dead at 83.
-
I posted because he has been mentioned various times on the site and his whereabouts were unknown. He was a national deputy in the 70s and has had a Wiki page for a long time. If he were famous there wouldn't be need to post he is still alive!

French politician Jean Turco is still alive at 106. Here's him five months ago.

Pietro Omodeo, El Alamein veteran and prominent Italian biologist, dead at 104.

My great aunt died yesterday aged 102, few months after breaking her femur in a fall. She was a very nice person, and had a long life, even with the tragic event of losing a daughter.
