The old format was so old it made me nostalgic for Windows 98. I spent many on hour misty eyed whizzing around here thinking about forums from my past. Trouble is half of it was broke and I saw people complain about broken functions. I dare say with so many advances making the old format obsolete, fixing it became a work beyond anyone below PhD level. Hence, they updated it to a new format as simplest solution. I don't like it, it's all strange and new and will take time to learn to navigate but I accept it as there prolly wasn't much choice. Progress and all. You can please some of the people all of the time, or all of the people some of the time but you will never please a Deathlister...

A significant factor happened just after all that, Fox News 'broke' a story that Trump engineered withholding news of Flynn's call to the Ruskies from Pence. What's significant about it is FOX NEWS (or at least part of FN) is ditching the clown. Or Agent Orange as some folks are now calling him. If he's losing ground at FN, he's done. Above all the noise, the numbers are what's going to drive it. Trump now at 39% approval. Midterms next year. A 39% approval will make keeping hold of the House quite a bit iffy. Those Congressmen and Senators can see themselves signing on for Social Security in their nightmares. Personally, I've always known it's just a matter of time before they get rid, but in truth I didn't expect it to begin fall apart for at least a year or so. Four weeks!! I could not wreck things that fast myself even on the best speed money can buy. lol

It takes a while to get the 'hang' of this forum and I'm still on a learning curve. Two things I have deduced in my short time here... 1. There's a thread for everything already. 2. There's no point in rushing to report a new death, someone has always got there first! Apart from that they are a friendly bunch provided you don't litter the place with recipes, knitting patterns or pictures of cats.

We sold a motor recently and discovered road tax isn't transferable between owners now. We got a part refund back when we notified the DVLA. (Unless different in Scotland but I don't think so?). So whenever you buy a 'new' car, you have to tax it yourself right away. We never knew it had changed as it's been a while since we sold or bought a car.

If you are stable then either you do realise when you are full or get to a point where you want to stop eating at meal times. For some who get to morbidly obese to the supersize extent, it creeps up on them over years. They often have problems feeling full or not realise they are full so eat more. The stomach stretches to accommodate extra bulk so it takes more to fill. Cycle after cycle. Eventually breakfast is a pound of sausages and half a dozen eggs on 4 pieces of fried bread. That kinda thing. There are other reasons why, of course, but not feeling full is a big reason why people eat to excess. At the extreme end of behaviour based issues such as feeding/feeder relationships when the aim is purposefully gaining weight, they liquidise foods to make the bulk/energy ratio higher. Like with orange juice, I could probably drink half a pint no problems but I couldn't eat 12 oranges in one go. Liquidise and you consume more food.

My youngest did part of her thesis on abusive relationships and I helped do some research. There was this poor American girl, only 23, and she got hooked up with a 'feeder' and he had a goal of getting her to 60 stone. "If you love me, you'll eat these 7 deep fried chickens and 3 gallons of ice cream" etc... and of course she loved him because he'd shown her the first affection she'd ever felt in her life, and he loved her because she was the only thing he had any influence or power over. So f***ing sad!

I don't think the US has a 30 year rule the way we in the UK do, but if so, historians in future generations are going to have a right old field day sifting through declassified documents and communications. One day the dirt will come out. Or not. But there's certainly dirt!

His legal advisors will be telling him to quit the table and draw up a new order which they'll help him draft. There is a very real chance the Supremes will split 4/4 and that will leave the block in place. Either way. he's lost. That EO is dead in the water now. So if he's got sense, he'll start over with a fresh order which doesn't drive a coach and horses through the Constitution. BUT.... it's Trump and anything could happen! No one knows his next move, not even Trump know what he will do tomorrow.

She wasn't a model, not in the professional Kate Moss sense. If she did have a profession then most people struggle to describe it. 'Party Girl' comes closest. I'm sure people bunged her a few bob to grace their raves on occasion.

Did I miss some great skullduggerous intrigue and altercation that resulted in such ban?? Dang it! I am never around at the right time. I tend to avoid getting into such forum spats myself but I am a great voyeur of such spectacles and Caisson had the potential for at least a 3 bag of popcorn handbag swinging fest. She was always on the tellybox in the 90s doing some daft thing or other, and then for some reason hasn't been seen for years now. Had forgotten about her to be honest. Any drug or alcohol related death is a tragedy in my view. Nature can be cruel with things like cancer but addiction is people being cruel to themselves.

I read a very interesting column in the WSJ a week or so ago, written by a long time political journalist who obviously had the confidence of GOP Congress and Senators as well as senior operatives. One of the points made is that you should never let your enemy see their own strength. All these marches they are seeing over there. whether organised or not, show a very considerable army of foot soldiers right across the USA. Democrats are seeing a huge potential of support to be tapped into and that's dangerous for the GOP and they know it. Elected Democrats feel they have momentum on their side now. The same article went on to say the writer couldn't find one elected representative that was prepared, even in private and in confidence, to mount a strong defence of Trump's immigration order. Many felt the chaos in it's implementation to be an own goal and Trump/Bannon's failing to include due process has got many of them frothing at the mouth with rage. "They couldn't allow 3 days grace?" one Senator said. There is a quiet cold war starting between the Trump administration and the rest of the GOP and I think everyone is waiting for that moment to break ranks and abandon Trump and his mates. At the moment, the GOP is enjoying the chance to implement domestic changes they haven't had a chance to attempt for a long time. But once they're done housekeeping, it's only a matter of time before they turn on him in mass. 3 weeks was always going to be too swift to ditch Dodgy Donald, but when the midterms are starting to draw near, watch them all flee for their political lives. None of them want 10,000 activists with witty homemade banners outside their campaign offices.
