Honestly, I had a similar experience with him as well. I considered Manikan for deathrace, but I pushed him away because I thought he could last past the deathrace end date. Oh how wrong was I...
-
Maybe so, but to be fair, no one got even close to getting a clean sweep in this yet. The closest to one I believe is Gerard Tierny in 2016 with 24/40 hits. So even if Lewis turns into a blessing in disguise, I still got 39 other people (well, 38 cause Manikan is dead) that could help me get a top ten performance this year... Of course that’s not to say that every other remaining pick will die, because they won’t all die (ONJ, Linda Nolan, Rose West particularly in mind). But I do have a lot of leeway, so who knows...
-
That one still does confuse me to this day tbh. If it turns out I get a solo with him because of that mishap, you can blame the host for that, though I don’t expect him to be a solo tbh...
-
Oh, I believe that she will die, as the reports are still saying critical. I think it took a couple of days with Bianchi before he died, so I wouldn’t eliminate her yet...

You seem to be underestimating a lot of people of there QO chances. How about you do some research on whether a person has received a mention from a qualifying source before, and that might help you figure out people’s chance instead of us having to hear you complain that they probably won’t receive a QO when they likely will, okay?

Yeah, Spade was almost 50 points behind in 2013, but he slowly made what is possibly the greatest dead pooling comeback of all time...
-
Ah, I forgot that Cow didn’t have Zarin. But, he got a lot of differentials from drol, with Goodwin being one very soon if she dies and obits in the near future...
-
If unnatural bonus comes through with Vervoort though, Dead Cow could be at 70...
-
I got Spanky Manikan on my team. Let’s see if I can get a solo with him...

Welcome to the forums Allen Kishner. Good luck this year at the Alt Obits.

So I'm not entirely sure if I should start a separate thread for this or not, but I am interested in figuring out what is the best potential 100% common knowledge team out there, and I want to try and see how the more popular hits start to shift. So this is what I have so far (most of these names down below aren't dead yet, I only put them in there to try to make it look neater with a full team instead of two names, so those are highlighted in orange for names I think could die in 2018, but they probably won't all be dead in 2018 (Goodwin might not obit either)). So here's what it looks like so far: Leah Bracknell Patrick Cryne Rayya Elias (joker at the moment) Dean Francis Greg Gilbert Vanessa Goodwin Clive James Tessa Jowell Devin Lima Peter Lorimer John McCain Liam Miller Olivia Newton-John Fernando Ricksen Nobby Stiles Stefan Karl Stefansson Bernard Tapie Morgan Tsvangirai Marieke Vervoort Bobby Zarin If you do want a thread for this, say so and I will do it. Otherwise, I'll post this in the statistics thread monthly to see how this evolves...

I mentioned last year that I think a team of people in common knowledge can be very successful if you picked the right names, and I actually found that this batch of 20 could've easily been put on a team and garnered someone 200 points. So I wanted to try once again with the names with common knowledge high score throughout the season to see what's the best possible team that you can make with names who are known to the public. Right now there's two people on it: Rayya Elias (joker, though I do expect this to change) Bobby Zarin Which gives you either 25 or 31 points depending on whether she makes the drop 40 or not. I'll try to update this every month or so, and see where this evolves into as we go later in the competition...

The Rolling Probabilistic Ddp Scoreboard

One down, ten to go... -
For some reason I didn't put Bobby Zarin on my list, but I'm sure a lot of people did put Zarin on their lists...
-
Zarin is a hit for me and a few others.

Anyone else feeling like we're in a death drought? Not necessarily in the sense of no Death List hits or very few contender hits, but just in general. -

Bill Crider is an interesting joker, as I don’t really expect him to obit, but if he somehow does obit, you’ll be highly rewarded imo... -
That’s why I said she was borderline. No doubt she was highly acclaimed, but if your not into that field, you probably would’ve never heard of her (though the same could be easily said about Errol Christie). That said, she looked like a bad pick at the beginning of 2016, though it was pancreatic cancer that she was fighting...

Welcome to the forums Dead Ends, and hopefully your team has been received by Spade.

I’m not saying that Coward and Skellern are in the same fame threshold as Feek, I’m just saying that they aren’t deathlisty names, imo. Feek is by far the least famous name to appear on the Crowdsource list, no doubt about that...
-
Well, there were already a few slip throughs in the past few years. Feek and Diski weren’t deathlisty but they made the list (Caslavka is borderline imo), and Skellern and Coward made it through in 2017...

For 2007, Luciano Pavarotti and Lee Hazelwood would’ve been certs. Also the two criminals who were associated with Saddam Hussein if unnatural deaths were allowed (can’t be bothered to remember there names)...
-
Oh, Sally Farmiloe would have been on the list in 2014, as well as Bonnie Franklin and Van Cliburn in 2013...

Jim Stynes?

I doubt Benmosche would since his second bout wasn’t announced till 2015, though he might’ve today cause of people being more kind. Rubenstein also comes to mind. Maybe even Archbishop Christodolous since he would’ve been drop 40 if that was around then...
