Added names from Reptile’s winning team to the list except Doleman and Kerslake (who already was on the list due to TJS). I guess I was half right on the names above I joked around that would make the list...

The Happy Birthday Thread

Well, we never got a clear idea of what type cancer he had. However, the reason I kept picking him in pools despite not knowing what his cancer was is basically that something felt really off for me with him. In 2019 there was a benefit concert for him, and that was the first I really considered him for pools. Indeed, I thought if he had really recovered they probably would’ve announced it on his gofundme, but that never happened. And that strong intuition just kept coming back to me, even keeping him up to my final 50 for the DDP despite being a risky pick on paper. I feel like I need to trust my intuition more when it comes up strongly. Obviously I was a year early in picking him in the DDP, and was really hoping that intuition was wrong. Sadly it was not meant to be.

Yahoo UK first up with a QO, though I’m sure he’ll get a lot more from the UK

It looks as if the quick start in Alt Obits has continued. I had Sylvain Sylvain, who was a carry over from my 2020 team. Won’t be a solo though
-
Died on the 13th from what I can gather, so definitely dead zone, probably one man down too.
-
If they allow the first alt to go in for me it would be Gerd Muller.
-
Ah, just a little bit too early for my DDP team last year. Ah well. From what I can gather he seemed like a genuinely cool and great dude, and enjoyed the music from the New York Dolls as well. So this definitely stings a little bit. RIP to him.

Btw, I can confirm the previous winner of Deathlist’s pool in the Doug Stanhope site is JiroemonKimura. So you can add another win for him there as well.
-
Right, the pool is in the process of locking down now, so might as well reveal my team: Alan Dean Foster Antonio Inoki Arno Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee David Gulpilil Dustin Diamond Guy Lafluer Hannah Wants Heinz Kluetmeier Jake The Snake Roberts James Whale Leon Spinks Linda Nolan Michael Caputo Necro Butcher Rob Burrow Rush Limbaugh Sylvain Sylvain Tim Shaw Tom Parker

As it stands, only one person who competed last year has to compete in round 1 (that being JoeMoneyPenny). So if you want to push some more folk who played last year and force them to compete in round 1, you have until the 20th to do so...
-
There are about 30 hours or so to enter this pool if you want. So consider this a warning if you want to enter...

I give McConnell and any other Republican who supports impeachment no credit as it’s very clearly a “abandon him when they don’t need him anymore” moment
-
Even though all the new threads are annoying I don’t think the above is the solution at all
-
I think that team intentionally did that looking at all the picks...

Here’s a QO for other pools

Seems like Stacy Title has died: Unpicked in the ddp by the looks of it
-
Absolutely love this team name, ngl: VIRUS? WHAT VIRUS? CORONA'S A BEER!
-
I see the pesky A Pelican In The Wilderness came up with an interesting strategy of only having 19 names. Maybe having one name short will be of good fortune for them. We’ll see...

In a bit more of a serious note, this is the 4th year in a row that I get a unique pick on my main that I thought surely someone else would have. But hey, a unique is still a unique even though only one of my 3 unique picks scored. Was close to a second one too had it not been for one other person (which I suspect I know who), but I’m not mad at that at all. Well, gonna be a great year to watch from the sidelines for the title race, and thanks to all the host for their amazing hard work.
-
Am very disappointed that Frank Ifield is not a unique for my B Team. Shame about that.
-
Connolly previously made the drop 40, so not him
-
Nah, but the pancreatic cancer still mauled him.

Looking at the inverse pool list, I am very surprised that Captain Tom didn’t even get to the top 50 most picked this year.
