Pier Sellers and AA Gill come to mind. Not big names but are deathlisty.

FTFY, and I mean actual huge household names world wide, not people that are notable enough for the list (as I never heard of Sellers or Gill before this forum, but I knew they would've been good enough for the list).

  2. Was Paul Newman the last big name that we knew they had cancer but didn't make the starting line the following year? I think most big names celebrities usually last till the following year if they had cancer.

Yes, having enough money and living in a country where she can excess high quality Western health care certainly won't hurt her, but she certainly seems a bit too optimistic about it ('Just a bit of photon radiation treatment and a hint of a beetroot juice/hemp oil/... and I'll be back in no time').

Optimism does add a little bit of time though, hopefully in 2018...

Has totalbiscuit's condition worsened recently? I thought he was responding to treatment and would soon be free of cancer?

Maybe you should pick him for the MMMDP? There's six spots left still.

She will die but not in this decade. Set Your eyes on Kathy Bates instead. It's all fine unless it spreads to inner organs. She has enough money to win this one....Cancer can last for a decade and still not kill "the host".

Yeah, but spine metastasis pretty much guarantees her death is going to happen this decade.

    Absolutely!

Ah, but Chuck Berry is an absolute legend in music, and, while Newton will be more shocking, she just doesn't have the same influence as Berry.

Then again, these are two artists on very different territories.

  7. I seriously hope FFBI are getting either banned or limited to maybe one or two picks. I mean, Shameless is doing very well, and I don't think that someone with ONLY FFBI picks should really be given the title.

Also, what happened with separating the main and theme competition so that theme teams aren't allowed to win?

  8. An update (though it's all in French again) on Hallyday. Google translated part of one into this: Still uncertain a few weeks ago, Johnny Hallyday will be back on stage. A return to the French public imminent since he is about to leave Los Angeles for Paris as shown in a photo published on Instagram. The singer who suffers from lung cancer will, as planned, ensure his tour with the Vieilles Canailles, a trio he trains with his associates Jacques Dutronc and Eddie Mitchell.

  9. 3 hours till it begins. So, that's three hours of sleep for me before I have to get up. I honestly like my time set for the Advent Avalanche better though, it's set so there isn't necessarily an advantage or disadvantage for Brits or Americans. Where as there may be disadvantages for the American posters who sleep in. Anyways, good luck to everyone. :)

  10. Interesting fact, apart from 2015, someone who died in this club got chosen by the DDP victor in the past 5 years, Jon Lord in 2012, Reg Presley in 2013, Mike Burney in 2014, and, although he didn't obit, Michel Delpech in 2016. It'll probably continue this year with Peter Skellern in 2017, so, Olivia Newton-John for 2018?
