I think it feel huge for me cause I am a huge fan of music in general. My music tastes at the moment (besides the Allman Brothers tribute) currently consists of Jonathan Richman, Tim Buckley, Elvis Costello and Electric Light Orchestra, as well as a general folk list. And I try to listen to as many artists as I can...

The Sesame Street cast? They've been around for a long time...

Well, unless, say, the Queen dies in an hour, of course.
Ah, Noakes won't beat Allman here in America, but it makes sense in the U.K.

John Noakes and Konstantinos Mitsotakis are overshadowed by Gregg Allman's death.

He was a good pick that returned to the list. RIP

This list.

Ray Pfeifer has died. Don't know the likelihood of him getting a QO though.

Not Bush necessarily, but a few others on my mind.

Obviously more in the second half, which is why I mentioned it's harder to reach. But I can think of a couple of names that will probably die in the second half.
-
I reckon I'll probably be in the top 5 in the end, as I still see some hits that is yet to happen. But tbh, I'm surprised that I'm currently doing as well as I am at the moment, as it only took 5 minutes to make that list, and now 8 of them are dead by the end of May. I think this make the title harder to reach, but I think there will be some end of the year carkers on my team (Stefansson in particular). If my team does somehow win, it'll put a lot of pressure on the team I make next year for this dead pool (and it really is a fine dead pool).

My favorite song by them have to be the 23 minute At The Fillmore rendition of The Whipping Post. Such an epic rendition of that song.

Apart from maybe Robert Plant, I don't think anyone would ever be a bigger name than Bowie for the biggest name on the last, as all the others who would be bigger than him have either passed this age period or have already died earlier.

There was another one on the inaugural list, Andrea de Cesaris. I do agree with your general point though, Italians should have more representation.

Gregg Allman? The health issues were clearly there, he was clearly famous enough (being the lead singer in one of the most acclaimed bands of all time) and canceling the rest of his 2017 concerts ala Merle Haggard pretty much sealed his fate. Plus, considering his cause of death was apparently liver cancer, the Mayo Clinic treatment makes a lot more sense now. Besides the two true bonafide misses (ala Berry and Pirsig), the only other one so far that I may count as a miss is Don Rickles.

11 minutes ago, Deathray said:Don't see the need for this. The number you've found easily shows this is a common age for musicians to die, and it's not that young for members of the general population.
The 27 club is different because it's young for musicians and general public.
I think it's less the amount of musicians that die and more the amount of quality musicians that die in this time period. It's just a thought by me.

Ok, Inman will count, as he was a singer. The others aren't musicians.

Just now, Shaun of the Dead said:Howard Marks, Princess Margaret ,Joan Sims , Larry Grayson , John Le Mesurier Marcia Wallace Holly Woodlawn Geoffrey Hutchings Edward George John Inman
Oh, this was solely music related. None of those would count (though I'll double check on a couple of them).

I know this phrase was mentioned by Weebl and a couple of others a few times in the past, so I decided to do some research and see which minor and major figures in music has fallen at this age period. And the answer is actually quite a lot. And for the big names, it's not people who have fallen this decade, as the major deaths has even gone back as far as the 70's and 80's with the deaths of Louis Armstrong, Muddy Waters, and Buddy Rich. And the musicians who aren't as well known are, for a lot of them, truly great musicians. So I present to you all the musicians, according to Wikipedia, who have died in this time period since the 1950's, and potentially discuss which musicians could fall victim of this curse in the future. So here we go, in the order of name, bands they worked with (or if not a person we hear on records, occupation), age of death, and date of death (there's a ton):
