    On the bright side, if Jason Smith is indeed LOTL, he joins Toto no namer Fergie Frederiksen as the name with the most pickers that didn’t get a QO with 22 teams apiece. So picking him wasn’t exactly totally for nought even if it feels that way

    Pretty Medal of Honor recipients typically aren’t allowed through. I remember trying Gary Beikirch a few years back and he too was rejected

    I think this morning was his last to get a QO tbh. I think the fact they would rather link a local article rather than actually making a note on his death pretty much confirms to me that it isn’t going to happen. On the bright side, he does join the no name Toto member in the most picked person in the LOTL at 22 teams apiece so at least he gets some sort of nod. 
    Though if it makes you guys feel better if I was playing more seriously in the DDP I too probably would’ve picked him. Until Rad mentioned his doubts publicly I did not think about Nigel Taylor at all who was a very similar case to him

    I feel like we forgot about Nigel Taylor tbh and how he didn’t end up QOing after resigning even though he probably should’ve. I’m not saying he won’t get a QO, but I feel we’ve seen this type of case before…

    Honestly despite his stature he’s rarely been talked about anywhere so I’d say no. But there’s always going to be a handful of names that fall under the rug despite their stature.

    Mentioned here multiple times since 2006 due to his longtime battle with liver cancer. He was hospitalised in critical condition with a recurrence last month but seems it was never reported by any English language news source.

    Obviously I don’t play anymore, but one of my biggest shock moments was is the lead up in the 2018 pool where I decided to throw on Fu Da-ren as a replacement pick because I was curious. And was completely stunned when he was an acceptable pick.

    Plenty of folks with Wiki pages in the past that got rejected for me and a handful that didn’t gotten through

    Who’s this Benedict guy? Never heard of him, pretty sure John Paul II is still the pope…
