    Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

What about Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey while we are at it? Both now in their late 60s albeit Olivia still looks good for her age. Some recent pictures here http://www.shakespearemagazine.com/2016/12/leonard-whiting-and-olivia-hussey-the-iconic-stars-of-franco-zeffirellis-classic-1968-romeo-and-juliet-film-were-reunited-this-week-for-one-magical-night-of-cinema-history/

    Thoughts On The 2017 List

Is there anything wrong with Colin Baker apart from him being enormously fat? Surely the older Tom Baker is a better bet if we have to have a Doctor. If we are going for old actors how about Joss Ackland?

    Political Frailty

Not so sure, he has good genes as his Mother is still going at 105.

    Tennis players

On the eve of the Wimbledon Men's Final, quite noticeable how many of the old men's champions are still alive at an advanced age. By my reckoning: 1948 - Bob Falkenberg (b. 1926) 1950 - Budge Patty (b. 1924) 1951 - Dick Savitt (b. 1927) 1952 - Frank Sedgman (b. 1927) 1953 - Vic Seixas (b. 1923) 1955 - Tony Trabert (b. 1930) 1958 - Ashley Cooper (b. 1936) 1959 - Alex Olmedo (b. 1936) 1960 - Neale Fraser (b. 1933) You've also got Laver and Rosewall plus defeated 1946 finalist Geoff Brown (b. 1924) still going. On the Women's side, the oldest living Wimbledon singles champion seems to be Shirley Fry (b. 1927) who won in 1956. Overall, seems like a much larger haul of nonagenarians and late octogenarians than you'd get in Football or Cricket from that era for example.

    Clive James

Latest update - immobile but listening to Bach and watching US House of Cards. Doesn't sound in too much discomfort. https://amp.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/jun/17/clive-james-terror-attacks-trump-poem-all-is-not-lost

    Political Frailty

Always find Geoffrey Dodsworth quite ironic as he stood down to force a by-election due to ill health in 1979 which is something MPs usually only do when they are on their very last legs and 38 years later he's still batting at the age of 89 having outlived most of his contemporaries.

    Lester Piggott

Lester was at today's Derby chatting to the Queen and looking in fine fettle along with Joe Mercer (82) and Willie Carson (74). All three look in good health for their age. Weird to think that these guys have easily outlived the likes of Eddery and Swinburne.

    David Huddlestone

    The Boys Of '66

I wouldn't expect Jack to survive Bobby Charlton

    The Boys Of '66

Of the boys of 66 you can never tell who'll be the last one standing but Roger Hunt and Geoff Hurst look to be in the best shape of those still going. On the German side, Beckenbauer might be a decent bet to be the last man standing as he was I think the youngest player in the final.
