Plus the six surviving Germans who played in the final.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing for him. Clearly not on his deathbed or suffering from dementia to be still doing these.
-
The fact that he's still doing one man theatre shows appears to suggest dementia is not an issue at least.

Sir Geoff Hurst is doing a "farewell" theatre tour January to March this year https://geoffhurst.com/events.html

Jimmy Carter has already outlived 4% of this year's list.

Hall is certainly in the Rolf Harris category that when he does die we almost certainly won't hear about it for several weeks after his death to enable a funeral and cremation to take place.
-
Was he an uncle I wonder?

Signed up for another 12 months on Corrie https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/25187076/coronation-street-bill-roache-contract/

Any evidence of any of his German contemporaries appearing as talking heads in this documentary?
-
Again, somewhat ironic seeing as it was set in a hospital.

Sandy Gall on 29 December then Jimmy Carter on 31 December.

Was referenving it as it was a well-known sitcom with a reference to death in its title.

You'll need to replace Delors

Til Death us Do Part? The four main actors made it to 89 (Mitchell), 78 (Nicholls), 84 (Stubbs) and 85 (Booth). Solid if unspectacular

One Foot in the Grave has done very well as a series in terms of longevity. Of the cast who have died- Doreen Mantle lived to be 97, John Rutland 96, Gordon Peters 95, Gabrielle Blunt 95 and Richard Pearson 93. As mentioned, Annette Crosbie is still going at 89 and Richard Wilson at 87. Even the younger actors - Janine Duvitski, Owen Brenman and Angus Deayton have avoided early deaths. Barbara Ashcroft (Mildred) still appears to be going aged 96. The first director, Sydney Lotterby lived to be 93 and its writer David Renwick and main director Susan Belbin are still around in their 70s. Of course Eric Idle who sang the theme tune is still around aged 80 as is Ed Welch who composed most of the music and is currently 76. The only person I can think of who is associated with the programme and died early is Peter Cook who guest starred in One Foot in Algarve. Hard to think of a comedy which has performed better in terms of longevity.

Randomly note that the somewhat disgraced Clement Freud's widow actress and director June Flewett is still alive aged 96 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_Flewett

96 is a pretty good innings all things considered.

Lord David Owen giving an interview on Sky News. Has a walking stick but otherwise appears ok

As an aside, Lou Macari looks very good considering he's nearly 75 and is a Scottish footballer from the 1970s!

He's old enough to go tomorrow but he could easily last another five years. Probably the most likely scenario is another 2-3 years.

He must have cancer, the very well respected cancer hospital he is receiving treatment in would hardly get his diagnosis that wrong and have continued treatment for years. More realistically perhaps he has in the past overstated the gravity of his short term prognosis.
-
She still looks quite elegant for someone who is nearly 80 and has terminal cancer, in that photo at least.

An apparently recent photo with Diddy David Hamilton

Is there a thread on the most shocking death of the year? If not, I'd probably say Matthew Perry despite his well-documented addiction issues. While there's been a lot of famous people die in 2023 most of them have been at an age where it wasn't unexpected.
