Allegedly shagged Shakin Stevens, something that got dragged up again when people were discussing the mismatch of Courtney Love and Steve Coogan.

Rosemary Smith, Irish rally driver and allegedly* the oldest person to drive a modern F1 car, dead at 86. Did my first ever driving lessons with her driving school and briefly met her then. *claimed by Renault, some years ago. May not even have been true at the time

Troy is probably mine. This is the first 'big' (domestically) death in a while that's surprised me. I did end up saying Fucking Hell very loudly to a train shelter with numerous kids in it

So Wills etc didn't get there in time; but it was all over by 4 regardless!

Aslan 40th anniversary concert postponed at short notice due to a 'health setback' for (the oft mentioned here before) Christy Dignam https://www.independent.ie/entertainment/music/music-news/aslan-forced-to-cancel-3arena-show-after-singer-christy-dignam-suffers-health-setback-41988848.html Actually saw him in person in early Summer and he looked better than he had for ages

Flightplan filed for 13:30 for one of the Falcon 900s to get to Aberdeen, presumably William. If she's hanging on / being kept alive for his arrival it could be over by 4.

I present, for the majority of posters on here who will never have seen this, her most recently charting track in Ireland. Some of her co "stars" on this have since died also, one quite recently (Simon Young)

Irish Soprano Cara O'Sullivan dies aged 59 of dementia related disease. Quite famous, would not be too surprised with a UK QO, had anyone selected her in anything, particularly as the death cause is a tad odd if not unexpected - she retired in 2018. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/tributes-as-cork-born-soprano-cara-o-sullivan-dies-aged-58-1.4468626

His voice is that bad due to severe smoke inhalation in a house fire. That will have hit him health-wise also but it doesn't mean he's as close to death as he sounds.

Guest on the RTÉ Late Late Show this evening, likely in one of the pre-record bits as it was a bit of a tied together mess Looked bloated and could barely attempt to sing.

Johnny Giles Rupert Murdoch This is just going to be a list of 80+ year olds though

Chuck Feeney has finally given away all his money, and is 89. Suspect with his lives work over he may decline rapidly.

Pence would still be President until January. There is doubt over whether a President can pardon themselves; but they can certainly pardon an ex-President Note that they can't pardon state offences though; and there's a huge stack of NY State cases piling up.

81 year old Larry Gogan, who retired from RTE last week, has died https://www.rte.ie/amp/1104730/ Almost as big a name as Marian but this wouldn't be as unexpected clearly

Officially, they aren't paid at all. All voluntary, graceful amateur game (that's incredibly violent) and all that Reality is they get expenses, grants and sponsors delivered to them if they're top level.
-
All hurlers are nominally amateur as the GAA bans professionals; there are a few who live entirely off sponsorship and others with very very spurious jobs with sponsors.

Particularly awful (at his job) former Taoiseach (Irish PM) Brian Cowen is in intensive care for an unspecified reason. Was notably drunk on air at least once, with his party and particularly the rural elements of his party being known for hard drinking...

Getting married after 32 years, shades of Ken Dodd possibly?

A major contemporary died today, who I thought was dead for maybe 20 years and also wouldn't have got a QO for here; but really one of the last light entertainment presenters from Gay's era left and may hit him a bit. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/bunny-carr-former-rté-presenter-dies-aged-91-1.3635577
