I don't know much about rugby union, but I always found his analysis refreshingly honest and forthright. hopefully he will recover as 55 is no age to go.

I used to go to Eton Park back in the day to watch my lot play Burton and we used to do reasonably well. You maybe at the wrong end of the Championship, but you are six leagues higher up the pyramid than we are. Funny old game...

Tony Booth for me

On reflection I am glad he is dead. He may have worked towards peace in recent years, but he probably involved himself in the deaths of many innocent folk and he never showed any regret for that. He also gives me my fifth hit of the year!

I'm undecided as to whether to mourn his passing or celebrate it. Peace may have been achieved but there was plenty of collateral damage

An insight into being a supporter of a step seven club with no money: we've had a succession of players (some apparently under contract) leave us this season for a variety of reasons including:- 1) Can't drive and have lost my lift to training and matches because he has walked out too. 2) I'm not enjoying football and want a break ( only to resurface at another club a few weeks later) 3) The travelling (35 miles) is too much and I'm. having a break (only to resurface at another club still 35 miles from his home) 4) The manager has gone on to better things and because he brought me to the club I'm now going to have a strop and not turn up to training . 5) I'm following the aforementioned manager to his new club and intend to give bugger all effort in the meantime until I can get the move. 6) The style of football doesn't suit me. ...and Arsenal fans think they've got problems!

The most disturbing aspect of this is the macho muscle flexing being displayed on all sides. Most folk on the planet just want to get by,but our leaders (elected and otherwise) seem intent on poking each other with sharp sticks. When North Korea eventually develop a nuclear capability then all bets will be off and the U.S. may live to regret making threats.

Have to say that Sheila Ferguson looks amazing and could easily pass for someone in their forties. Miriam Stoppard on the other hand has spent the last twenty years under the surgeon's knife. She looked like a female Michael Jackson

Please tell me you don't call them that. Yep. Sorry. They originally were located at the docks/ports when the fishermen would come into sell their fish. Better than having the fisherman piss and poop off the sides of their small boats into the bay. Portable potties shortened to Port-o-potties. Another reason to visit Norway!

Thumbing through my A-Z of Birmingham and the wider West Midland conurbation today whilst planning a route for my lad 's away football match, I came across a district of the Black Country called Bell End

Hednesford 1 Barwell 1 Dire game!

Totally the opposite - as a lifelong Carlisle United fan I feel a certain kinship, probs disregard the over-paid Premiershit stuff for similar reasons and travel more in hope than certainty. League positions (us 3rd, them 23rd) notwithstanding I'll get to Orient on Saturday early enough to enjoy the pre-match pint and summat from the tonnage of fast food on the high road because I have a hunch my day might get worse once we kick off. My mate was born in Carlisle and so they are his team. We go and watch them when they are playing at Walsall or Shrewsbury so we both hope that Carlisle get promoted as we've missed out for the last couple of years.

...and before anyone accuses me of being a glory hunter, I've been going for forty years and have seen everything stuck with it through thick and thin (and thinner still)

Found the football thread and thought I'd 'fess up to being a Hednesford Town fan. I go to all the home games and away ones which are local. We play in the 7th tier. Feel free to mercilessly take piss.... ...I'm used to it.
